Have a nice trip .Albertan anger at Canada is not going anywhere soon . Separatist sentiment is at its strongest ever , and people are actually organizing toward that end . This is not going away .

But they did come close , and that with Canada giving them everything they want including distinct society . Alberta is not getting the same treatment, and under our current system there is no political will to change that .

They came close decades ago. Canada was under no obligation to honour the outcome of their referenda, anyway and it never got close enough for anyone to find out.

Remember the referendum that Rick Mercer ran to get Stockwell Day to change his first name to Doris? It got millions of votes.
