Naw, it wasn't called that, back in the 60s it was good old Bennies.

Yeah, I know. Read my post previous to that. The Allies developed bennies as a response to nazi methamphetamine. The difference being nazi meth, or Pervitin, was also marketed to the general public. The nazis produced millions and millions of meth tabs and you could even buy it over the counter without a script.
At one point the ranking Medial Officer in the nazi military banned the stuff for army use because of the nasty effects of addiction. It was quickly banned from the public after that but the military kept on using the shit because the nazi party leaders liked one aspect of it in particular. Besides the usual effects, it pretty much removes any compassion you may otherwise have for others.
Probably explains why the SS troops were so brutal and nasty. Total nazi indoctrination and a steady supply of meth they were strongly encouraged to take.
