Why do we so often mythologize the dead?

The answer is fairly simple, and not very complicated. We mythologize the dead mostly out of guilt. Others gave their lives because we were either to busy or could care less what happens in this world. We owe those who sacrificed themselves for us our very existence.

Yes we do, Ironsides. Couldn't agree more. American, Brits, Canadians, had to be the very bravest of the brave.

The only war going on when I was of war age was Vietnam. A Canadian friend of mine tried to enlist in the US army. They just sent him home. I told him he should try the French Foreign Legion. He just went and got another cold beer. Life was easy.

Glad Harpnuts wasn't at the helm back then or we'd been in every shythole conflict from Nam to Africa...........just as long as the US said it was ok. One does have to wonder at what age he became an ass kissing war monger...............probably when he was too old to actually go.
