Its interesting how other people think about this. Free market; don’t buy it if you don’t want to support the company. Easier to go with the flow than fight the power system. Sharks eat Shark type world. I understand it’s a free country and we all have to make our own choices. BUT we have turned into double working parent families, with no one home to raise the kid’s type country. Why? Because we want everything and we want it yesterday. Advertisement has brain washed the masses and it has made the cost of living go up for everyone. The few that benefit from the money made by advertisement give really no value to society as a whole except to entertain it for a given time. I understand its not a thing that would happen over night but I was hoping this thread would make people think before they make there next purchase.

Nobody stays home to raise the kids because no one WANTS to stay home to raise the kids, and now that we don't force one half the population to do so, they started working too. Since their husbands sure as hell didn't want to quit their job to deal with some kids they kept working. More money around means the price of commodities goes up, making it so that you HAVE to be a dual-income family because so many others are.

But the solution is simple, have one half of all those families go back to being homemakers, problem is..few WANT to do that, so good riddance, society changes. Maybe we need a Kibbutz style child rearing policy.

If you look at most problems in todays society dealing with kids . Its mostly goes back to bad parenting. Why , because we are to busy for them . For some it to busy to get the next car, and for some they are just to busy just to surive.

I can answer this question pretty easy.

The simplest form of the answer is supply and demand -market value.

There are many people who are more than willing and capable to be a police officer for 41000/ year, or a doctor for 130,000/ year.

There are only enough places for what 180 hockey players in canada (30 per team) and to attract the fans you need the best, to get the best you have to pay them equivlant to what they can attract in revenues.

Doctors make a lot more than that....My Brother-in-law is a 1st year doctor (just finished his residency), and he was offered $350,000....I can't imagine how much doctors who have been out there for 10, 20, 30 years are making!!! So, don't worry about the doctors, they are making enough, especially when the average salary in Canada is around $40,000.

But I agree, "superstars" (movie, sports, models, music) make too much, but it is a free market, not communism. Sport superstars at least put themselves at risk, and they should be paid more for that (not the millions they do get paid)...What is the worst that can happen to a model? She can fall off the catwalk? You should get paid more for working in a high risk job (firefighters, police, construction, electricians, heck even security guards, any job you put your life on the line)

A doctor will make more in their life than a sports star.

Some Doctors practive for over 50 year, with salaries of over a million a year. Sports stars have less than 10 years on average. Some as little as 3 or 4..providing they don't end up crippled on their first or second game.

Most hockey players set a better example then these bottomfeeders.
