NO I have a problem with YOUR church! YOU as you have said represent YOUR church. You dont come here as a person you repesent yourself as a Priest that "must" publically state the "churches" points. Exactly right. I know many membes of my peers who do not have any serious objections to homosexual alliances, however, officially we are not allowed to run our ministries based on personal preferences. People think we have much more leeway in these matters then we actually do.

Furthermore if I, for example, disregarded the Church in ths matter and went ahead and performed such a ceremony, it would not be long before disciplinary action would be enacted by the diocese, including removing my marriage license.

For the most part the Church does........ We must subscribe publically and officially to support the Holy Mother Church.

And I totally get that... I would never expect you to sit here and say that gays deserve the right to marry in the church. A homily presented by a priest recently shed a lot of light on the issue for me, and boiled down very simply to its basic elements what he had to say was...

"The church feels very strongly that a mother and father marrying and having children, creates the strongest foundation for society. It is the ideal which the church tries to reinforce." he then went on to address divorce, and homosexuality, as life situations which do not fit into the ideal the church wishes to maintain. "But, if someone is unable to achieve the ideal the church has put forth, it is our duty as Christians, to not pass judgement, and to accept that it is simply not possible for everyone in life to be able to meet it."

While he wasn't speaking against church doctrine, rather explaining it, at the same time, he was preaching tolerance and a more 'Christian view', than saying it's 'wrong'.

This is a discussion forum. That is its function. Gilbert is NOT flaming anybody, he is stating his opinion. Are you assuming he does not have the same rights to do so as you or I. I assure you, on several key issues, him and I disagree. However, he has been an informative advesary and whom I have great respect for his informative opinions.. Never, even when I have disagreed, have I resorted to calling him names. In short, grow up, share your points of view minus the schoolyard name-calling.

I posted proof that homosexuality is natural and you ignored it. Not my pronlem, it's your problem. Then in your very post you imply that it isn't natural but you say it is. I think you need psychiatric help.
