The Canada Elections Act has been around for decades. And besides, persons convicted of a crime become no less of a citizen. But this may be cause for the creation of a new thread on this particular topic.

This is a childish topic. Based on uneducated populer mis-conceptions. I think many will vote for conservative as they feel they have lost there individuality, and the CPC policy smacks of individuality over the common right.

Supreme Court of Canada

The Supreme Court of Canada was not involved in the creation of the Canada Elections Act; this piece of legislation was enacted by Her Majesty by and with the advice and consent of both our House of Commons, and the Senate of Canada. Our elected representatives passed the Act.
