It's all part of the propaganda. They need a boogie man to make the lie work. A name for the right wing talking heads to repeat - and make everyone forget about Osama Bin Forgetten.

I just read an AP report out of Kabul, Afghanistan that quotes President Hamid Karzai as saying, (in reference to Osama Bin Laden's whereabouts) "God knows where he is...we don't know...(but) he is not in Afghanistan."

That was Karzai's response to Pakistani Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao, who just a few days ago said that Osama wasn't in Pakistan, either, but could be hiding in southeastern Afghanistan.

Okay, so if he isn't in Pakistan or Afghanistan, then where the fuck is this guy? Las Vegas?

Are these two clowns jerking the U.S. government around? Not likely.

You know where Bin Laden is? He's six feet under--he's fucking dead. And I wouldn't be surprised if the US beloved war party is struggling to keep his ghost alive in order to continue their nonsensical, illegal war(s) raging across the world.

bin Laden's not dead, Mog. My personal guess is Detroit, but whatever. If he dies, the whole lie goes up. bin Laden is about the safest man on earth. Except maybe for me.

I have to agree with you there Rev but are you sure he is in Detroit? Maybe in Florida with shaved beard and nice sunglasses on some beach with few presidential guards keeping him safe.

Interesting reading these impressions.

Is skepticism proof enough of the truth ?

Every politician in United States knows something the world doesn't know.

You wanna know what that is ?

Really?

Are you sure?

Nah, you don't wanna know because, hell, you all do know.

But you don't.

What the hooey, might as well tell you, but first there is this: one person on this board actually thought a lot of Americans don't know how much the world hates what their America stands for these days.

My response was that even the town drunk knows this --- as if he couldn't deal with enough hate on his own already, heh heh.

Awright.

So here it is.

This is what every American politician knows and the world doesn't know.

The politicians know that every American would feel good about Zarquawi and bin Laden being captured or killed.

They also know that most Americans would know that these 2 men being gone, would not end the insurgency in Iraq, or even end terrorism in general.

They also know that the al Qaeda is no monolith, that it is a hyrdra, a diaspora spawning locally everywhere with no overall General, no great central controlling figure.

The politicans and the American people know this.

And they know one thing more: That any American politician who had proof of capturing or killing bin Laden, would not hide it, but use it to their advantage to win an election.

That last statement is so true and core to the bones of graveyard America, that no other skeptical joking around about it would be even remotely plausible in the political "psyche" of American elections.

It's just blunt enough to clearly say that no politician could even resist the chance to proclaim some symbolic success and that means capturing or killing bin Laden.

To think anyone would find greater benefit in pretending bin Laden is alive when he's really dead because this would promote continuing militarism (an issue fast becoming old with our soldiers who are going back for a third tour) is not living on the intuitive nectar of reality.

This is an interesting area of discussion. Afghanistan came to heel so quickly with the training camps abandoned and the Taliban proving to be a fairly shy bunch. Now it is under rule by an oil executive, and is mosly controlled by war lords again producing huge amounts of Opium. Even as OBL melted into cyberspace and while the sad Sadam was taken from the rabbithole, looking more confused as to why his good buddy the U.S. was treating him so badly, than like the personifaction of evil, the crafting of Al Zakawi's image as the Boogieman was well underway. He seemed everywhere at once. But I think it likely he already has crosshairs on his back. Then the Intelligence Community will have to craft another Boogieman. They dropped the ball when they invaded Iraq but at least they got a very rich land. Perhaps 14 permenant bases will be enough to secure the oil and serve as a staging ground to the rest of the Middle East. But the U.s (g) needs a Patsy (read 'clear target') to maintain support for the Occupation and spread of their influence.

hey mrmom. Are you asking for proof. You have to believe what you are told. You are with them or with the terrorists.

not going there any time soon either. (IF ever again). Not interested in visiting a "police" state. living next door is risky enough.

(friends of mine in Europe are saying things like "watch your back"........ meaning all Canadians. They aren't talking about terrorism either. )

the reality is that it is REALLY SAD that things have gone this far.

One might want to reflect on : Who is one more "afraid" of now......the terrorists or the loose cannon called the US.???? does not bode well for the immediate future.

( would go so far as to say, that I would not even enage in a US based discussion board now. and this is sad too. )

Ocean you need to step back and take a deep breath, you have reached the point that you actually start believing things like this:

I think we can both agree pre-conceptions and paranoia of this kind fuel animosity and do not contribute to any rational way of understanding.

Thanks though, I laughed outloud.
