Time to wheel out the old guillotines, just in case any hopped up "aristocrats" get any ideas.

I'm sure most French and US monarchists probably hope for a constitutional monarchy. I know some French monarchists do want a king with more teeth than what a constitutional monarchy offers, but even they stop short of anything resembling absolute monarchy.

The Yanks have a POTUS who would dearly love to be an absolute monarch.

Ironically, the simple fact that Americans could vote for such a buffoon has probably converted more than a few Americans to monarchism.

They're looking for someone to save them from a system that is rapidly becoming spent. Trump is probably not the last con-man to snooker a confused and frightened electorate. The US is in decline and it is likely out of their hands. Empires appear to have a natural life cycle and as the world fills up and moved faster, the lifespans of empires become shorter and shorter.
