What is wrong with our "justice" system?

I'm for short sentences and exacting punishment. If you steal from someone immediate compensation should be required upon conviction. The Crown should have the right to sell any property of the convicted to get the amount due. Then apply a short rigorous sentence. If you rape someone the lash should be used upon conviction. Give the convicted two years of rigorous work to complete. No mercy but make it short. But if you're a career criminal you really are a piece of garbage. I want no state money used to keep you. I don't even want you in the flippin' country. Termination is the only acceptable solution.

Make a man fend for himself in a gang-driven, violent prison for 10 years, and when he gets out hes sure the heck not want to get himself back in!

Right, because conditioning felons to foster that violent side of humanity will make them change their ways...

I think the justice system in America is an admirable one in the sense of punishment fitting the crime.

Better than Canada in that department.

And tamarin, 2 years of "vigorous work" for rape?

Your joking. Rape kills a person emotionally, all sexual offenses EXTREMELY hurt their victims with long term effects.

COME ON!!!

What punishment would be fair for possession of a small amount of marijuana?
