Yet you leap to the defense of your nation when those actions are criticized. Because of that I think you owe us either an explanation or a justification of your government's actions.

Show me one single post I have leaped to defend that. Just one. And since I haven't I don't owe you any explanation.

If you look through all the threads I have posted, you will see I never claimed anything different. And to answer your question directly. Most Definately. The question is, do you accept for yours?

I am not speaking of any particular war, they have gone to war without congressional approval. Hence there is such thing as an illegal war.

Quit trolling, Warhawk.

From your very first post here you have been whining that we are anti-American. You have a particular hatred for me. Your complaints are unfounded...our criticisms are of your government. From making kids pray to your flag in public schools, to your inability to separate church from state, to your brutally unfriendly environmental practices, to your predatory trade policies, to your imperialistic foreign policies.

Does some of that rub off on your people? Well, you elect the government that makes those policies. Your people defend those policies. It is you, an American, who has taken it upon yourself to join a Canadian site and bitch that we dare point out the problems in your country.

Indeed, some of you are.
You have a particular hatred for me.
I can't hate you, I don't know you well enough. Despite what you think, I enjoy reading your posts when you on occassion make a point
Your complaints are unfounded...our criticisms are of your government.
I never complained about any criticism towards my government and you can't prove it.
From making kids pray to your flag in public schools,
That is a perception and an opinion 330 million Americans do not share, give or take a few Lefties
to your inability to separate church from state
We were the first to seperate church and state and we continue to do so
to your brutally unfriendly environmental practices
Our brutal environmental practices sustains our economy not to mention yours
to your predatory trade policies
Billions of dollars in trade and you most likely pick the soft lumber issue that has been going on before I was born
to your imperialistic foreign policies.
Yes, not always imperialistic, but indeed alot of them are and not in the sense you mean it.
Does some of that rub off on your people?
Probably
Well, you elect the government that makes those policies.
Nobody is perfect
Your people defend those policies. It is you, an American, who has taken it upon yourself to join a Canadian site and bitch that we dare point out the problems in your country.
Big time spinner, you should have lunch with Noam Chomsky, you're just as good as he is, and if you dont want Americans coming to your Canadian site then block the ip addresses from the US. And don't you want to listen to other opinions?

Indeed, some of you are.

Prove it. Provide the context of the entire conversation though.

I can't hate you, I don't know you well enough. Despite what you think, I enjoy reading your posts when you on occassion make a point

It isn't what I think, it is what you say and do.

I never complained about any criticism towards my government and you can't prove it.

yet you also said
You're absolutely correct, we weren't there. But why are we expected to be everywhere? Anytime we go anywhere it won't be for a good cause it will be for an "evil" imperialistic purpose, wouldn't it? I think you can safely say, that will be the general view of the world.
sausage

That is a perception and an opinion 330 million Americans do not share, give or take a few Lefties

Ah, again taking exception to us complaining about your government's policies.

We were the first to seperate church and state and we continue to do so

Yeah, that's why your president has foreign dignitaries pray with him and why the Monkey Trials part two are firing up in Kansas.

Our brutal environmental practices sustains our economy not to mention yours

Taking exception to me criticizing your government's policies again?

Billions of dollars in trade and you most likely pick the soft lumber issue that has been going on before I was born

It's not just softwood and it isn't just Canada though. Look at your foreign policies. Look at your aid policies. They are all geared to maximizing profit for your corporations. By the way...you slipped with the thing about me criticizing your government's policies again. :D

Yes, not always imperialistic, but indeed alot of them are and not in the sense you mean it.

In exactly the sense I mean it.

Big time spinner, you should have lunch with Noam Chomsky,

So call him up and tell him to come to Winnipeg and see me. I'd love to have lunch with Noam.

you're just as good as he is,

That's one of the nicest things that anybody ever said to me. 8)

and if you dont want Americans coming to your Canadian site then block the ip addresses from the US.

I don't mind Americans coming here at all. I just get tired of the ones who have nothing to add other than making charges of anti-Americanism while displaying anti-Canadian sentiments almost as deep as Anne Coulter's.

And don't you want to listen to other opinions?

The only opinion you've expressed since you arrive is that we shouldn't criticize your country and that you really a particular beer commerical and Rick Mercer.

Define an American? How about defining a Canadian? All people are different, even when they're from the same place, thus it's impossible to fully and accuratly define the group.

Having been here for a few weeks now, I'd say that you, Rev, are just looking for some support evidence to cite when you make sweeping generalizations about people you don't know. You want to know what an American is? Travel to America and get to know every single citizen.

I'm sure the answer you wanted to get was that Americans are all ileducated, brainwashed flagwavers who like to drive big SUVs, eat at McDonalds, and hate all other counttries. But that's only about as true as CAanadians living in igloos, drinking beer, and watching hockey 24/7.

Well said p106_peppy !!!

Like I said my friend in Winchester Virginia knows what the BBC wants to see. They want to film a red-neck bar for the folks back home.

They won't be taking the camera elsewhere to places that are far more highly representative of the town.

He knows exactly what they want to see.

I'm glad he's making a few pounds off of them.

I will reserve this for tomorrow since it's past my bedtime and can't go through all the posts tonight :p

I can't hate you, I don't know you well enough. Despite what you think, I enjoy reading your posts when you on occassion make a point

It isn't what I think, it is what you say and do.

I express my opinion and I do nothing

I never complained about any criticism towards my government and you can't prove it.

I suppose an opinion to you is being protective. Especially when I make a point, funny how you didnt mention that two members liked the answers I gave.

That is a perception and an opinion 330 million Americans do not share, give or take a few Lefties

Ah, again taking exception to us complaining about your government's policies.

Just giving you the facts Rev., you always omit the facts.

We were the first to seperate church and state and we continue to do so

Yeah, that's why your president has foreign dignitaries pray with him and why the Monkey Trials part two are firing up in Kansas.

Instead of that, show me how the church has overuled a Supreme Court decision on any federal or state level

Our brutal environmental practices sustains our economy not to mention yours

Taking exception to me criticizing your government's policies again?

Nope, reminding you of that which you choose not to mention.

Third time isnt a charm Rev, it gets boring. Instead of throwing random theories in the air pick a topic to debate on

Yes, not always imperialistic, but indeed alot of them are and not in the sense you mean it.

In exactly the sense I mean it.

That is your opinion

Big time spinner, you should have lunch with Noam Chomsky,

So call him up and tell him to come to Winnipeg and see me. I'd love to have lunch with Noam.

That's good, say hello to him when you see him, I attended a lecture of his 2 years ago at Queens College. He should of stuck to Linguistic Anthropology

you're just as good as he is,

That's one of the nicest things that anybody ever said to me. 8)

Well I suppose I dont hate you after all

and if you dont want Americans coming to your Canadian site then block the ip addresses from the US.

I don't mind Americans coming here at all. I just get tired of the ones who have nothing to add other than making charges of anti-Americanism while displaying anti-Canadian sentiments almost as deep as Anne Coulter's.

Its funny how you dismiss the existance of anti-Americanism and yet you seem to believe that anti-Canadianism exists. But you like NickFun that constantly agrees with you, is that how it goes Rev? Only those who agree with you like you?Even if I am wrong in what I say, isn't it worth being heard? Or does everyone outside your sphere of perception have an "agenda"

And don't you want to listen to other opinions?

The only opinion you've expressed since you arrive is that we shouldn't criticize your country and that you really a particular beer commerical and Rick Mercer.
Nice try Rev. Get over the beer commercial and Rick Mercer, anti-Americanism exists in Canada since 1776, you can thank the British for that one, but then again you do like it.
