Eurythmics - "Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty-Four)" (1984)
The English/Scottish synth-pop duo comprising Annie Lennox and David Stewart scored a No4 UK hit in 1984 with this song based on British author George Orwell's 1949 novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four": The novel which coined the phrase "Big Brother is watching you."
After hearing Lennox sing beautifully in a London restaurant in which she worked, Stewart decided he wanted to form a band with her, and the rest is history.
The mighty Eurythmics have sold 75 million records worldwide.
