Here are some songs from Black Sabbath, from their 2013 album "13":

Black Sabbath in London, 1970

Black Sabbath are:

Ossy Osbourne: Verbal diarrhoea; bat eater
Tony Iommi: Nine-fingered riff-meister, born in a Birmingham graveyard
Geezer Butler: "Bassist" form of life
Bill Ward: Demonic beats (did not participate in this album as he left the band in 2012 but rumour has it he will be back with the band for their new 2014 album)

Ozzy laughing at start

Astral engines in reverse
I'm falling through the universe again
Down among a dead mans vision
Faded dreams and nuclear fissions span

The strings of fear they are holding up the race
The puppets falling to the ground
The love I feel as I fly endlessly through space
Lost in time I wonder will my ship be found

On this sinking ship I travel
Faster than the speed of life
Not so super nova burns
The black holes turn and fade from sight

The strings of fear they hide within the human race
The answers burried underground
The love I feel as I fly endlessly through space
Lost in time I wonder will my ship be found

And very soon
The boundless moon
Will show us light
And as we crash
We'll pray and kiss
And say goodnight

Goodnight

Ozzy laughing at start

Astral engines in reverse
I'm falling through the universe again
Down among a dead mans vision
Faded dreams and nuclear fissions span

The strings of fear they are holding up the race
The puppets falling to the ground
The love I feel as I fly endlessly through space
Lost in time I wonder will my ship be found

On this sinking ship I travel
Faster than the speed of life
Not so super nova burns
The black holes turn and fade from sight

The strings of fear they hide within the human race
The answers burried underground
The love I feel as I fly endlessly through space
Lost in time I wonder will my ship be found

And very soon
The boundless moon
Will show us light
And as we crash

And say goodnight

Goodnight

I'm listening to Hugh Laurie's new blues album, "Didn't It Rain".

English actor Hugh Laurie is a very talented guy. Not only has he appeared in such shows as Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster, and American show House, but he's also written two novels - The Gun Seller, an intricate thriller laced with Wodehouseian humour (Laurie is a fan of P.G. Wodehouse, who wrote the Jeeves and Wooster books) and The Paper Soldier - but he has also released two blues albums, Let Them Talk in 2011 and now Didn't It Rain in 2013.

He's also a talented instrumentalist, as is evident in the fact that he played several instruments in this album, including the piano, the guitar and even the judge's gavel (he does the voice of a judge in one of the songs).

Unlike his previous album, Laurie also branches further into other Southern US and South American genres, including jazz, R&B, and tango, with the Copper Bottom Band playing additional instruments; similarly to Let Them Talk, a range of guest musicians also join Laurie on the album to provide vocals, with appearances including Gaby Moreno, Jean McClain, and Taj Mahal.

Laurie is the main volcalist, though, and he sings with such a deep voice and with an American drawl that you could be forgiven for thinking that the voice you hear is that of a black American veteran blues singer.

A greta album for you to listen to if you like blues music.

I like this song - Your Woman - from British musical act White Town - one man by the name of Jyoti Prakash Mishra, who hails from Derby.

Jyoti is the vocalist and synthesiser player in the song.

It also features a muted trumpet line taken from "My Woman" by Al Bowlly. Bowlly was an East African singer, songwriter, composer and band leader, who became a popular jazz crooner during the British dance band era of the 1930s. He was killed by a Luftwaffe parachute mine that detonated outside his flat at 32 Duke Street, Dukes Court, St James, in London on 17th April 1941.

White Town, 1996

White Town has reported that the lyrics could stem from or be related to multiple situations. He says "When I wrote it, I was trying to write a pop song that had more than one perspective. Although it’s written in the first person the character behind that viewpoint isn’t necessarily what the casual listener would expect".The lyrics could mean "Being a member of an orthodox Trotskyist / Marxist movement. Being a straight guy in love with a lesbian. Being a gay guy in love with a straight man. Being a straight girl in love with a lying, two-timing, fake-**** Marxist. The hypocrisy that results when love and lust get mixed up with highbrow ideals."Many listeners also likened the song to a breakup letter, where the man reading the breakup letter imitates the woman's voice.

The song - from White Town's February 1997 album Women in Technology - reached No1on the UK Singles Chart on 13th January 1997.
