and by the way, I probably WOULD have responed to this...

So you agree schools are fascist? Since the self-regulating market either provides a satisfactory solution without government involvement, OR if it can't, schools have no right to demand and open market.

Currently the school system is fascist by your definition, just wanted to be clear on that.

more directly but it doesn't even make any sense.

Uh huh, so now you resort to double posting more and more, I guess because your panicing.

Please explain to me how the school system is different.

There are private schools and homeschooling, competing with government run schools which are funded by Tax payer dollars. Is that not the very definition of your version of fascism you keep ranting about?

Since page one I've been arguing that using "our tax dollars ... used to interfere directly with and compete directly in an otherwise self-regulating market" is Fascism.

Why yes, it is. And the public school system is just that. So apparently you must think that the public school system is Fascist.

I really don't see much point in refuting your claim the general public's need for adeqate schooling can be met satisfactorily within the self-regulating market when its more fun for me to just leave it at that.

What you really mean to say is "Im wrong".

Plenty of countries have private schooling as the norm, its not the best system, but thats not your arguement.

Your argument isn't that having the Wheat board as a subsidy is bad because its not for the greater good, your saying its fascism because it works for the greater good.

Therefore, you are just trying avoid having to admit that by your definition, You consider the Public School system fascist.

Check and Mate.

Even if, only if mind you, I were stupid enough to honestly believe relying on private and home schooling would meet society's needs but still continued to advocate for publically funded schools whether my advocacy represented a form of Fascism or not would depend very much on the business model.

But I'm not that stupid. I'm surprised I've wasted so much time with someone who is.

home schooling and farm subsidies. Why do I hear the theme song for Deliverance?

and so we continue with the name calling, and now bigotry too.

Yes, us country folk sure is stupid.. I mean, its not like home schooling provides a better education in most cases..and its not like without a stable domestic food supply foriegn interests would extort us.. just because thats what happens.

But if you truly seek to stop debating (if thats what you consider name calling when you don't have anything to counter with) then simply stop posting :)

I knew it. Another true blue big "C" utterly phoney little "c" Conservative out scamming handouts.

No wonder I stuck around. It would actually bother me if I didn't know enough about the economic climate to know that if you really are a farmer you're going to get what you deserve.

When did I say I was a farmer? Or a conservative?

You really do think people from the country are some kind of mindless inferior sheep don't you? Living in the country doesn't mean we all drive tractors and vote conservative. Man, you really are elitist aren't you?

When did I say you're a farmer? If you aren't it'll still hit you where it counts when it all goes down. That's good enough for me.

You're defending a Conservative policy and deceitful one at that. It doesn't matter how you voted.

Im defending a policy from sensationalist claims. Its a very open policy, but seeing as apparently all that matters to you is where the Idea came from.

If your rationale for good idea/bad idea is "My team (whatever party you back) is good and every other team is bad (whatever party/parties you oppose)" then its no wonder alls you do is run around screaming "fascist" and deriding your fellow man as if they are inherintly inferior to you.

I mean, how do you look in the mirror at night?

Its a lot easier knowing it won't be your face looking back from it.

Enjoy the handout. It ain't gonna last.

I offered to start using another word for right-wing collectivism but you still haven't come up with one for me. Fascism is the proper word but it comes with too much baggage. That is a problem but I'm sure as long as crap like Strahl is pulling keeps up it'll sort itself out over time.

So your against welfare, health care and free education then? Im willing to bet, like most countries, farm subsidies will last, as will all the rest.

I'd have a lot less problem with barley farmers getting a subsidy if that's what Strahl called it

or perhaps you just resort to namecalling and bigotry when you are wrong and you know it, its really the more likely of the two, since such behaviours didn't occur till you had been conclusively proven in error.

or perhaps I'm simply killing time until it dawns on you that the fundamental difference between Fascism and Socialism is the treatment of property and that Strahl's actions are forcing a government entity to cross the line from the latter to the former.

and a lot of time it is. must be the whole home schooling thing getting in the way.

and cry me a river about the snark remarks. you couldn't go three posts in this thread without getting personal.

Does that include using that profit to invest in competitive measures against existing entities that can provide the same service?

Now this bugs me, why do you post like 15 times, often multiple postings, before you even know what to say. Wait until you can make a post like this. As for personal remarks, you would have to know something about me for it to be personal, the word you are looking for "is blanket statements of bigotry".

As for your belief in this fundemental difference why this was socialism and now is fascism, your kindly always choosing to forget, that the wheat board has ALWAYS competed with existing entities that provide the same service.

What do you think the Wheat board does with the wheat? Pours it down a well? It resells it, in DIRECT COMPETITION with other similar businesses in Ontario and the Marintimes.

This would be ok if it was a Provincial entity (different levels of government), but it is a federal entity. So an Ontario businessman is funding his tax dollars into a government business that competes directly with him, this is the Status quo.

By your definition, that is fascism. Therefore, the weakening of this situation, cannot be seen as an increase in fascism, UNLESS, you don't actually think its fascism (which it really isn't anyways) and you just like to scream the word fascist and throw a hissy fit (which this thread keeps showing you do)
