Just watched a replay of the Pens vs Caps game last night and am following that with Tim and Sid who are currently chatting about the fact that Sid has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be out for at least game 4 - much as I want to see him back on the ice, they better make damn sure he is completely 100% healthy before they put him back out there.

As far as the fall-out from the hit, Matt got what he deserved and there should be no more action taken. My beef is with the FACT that it was the two-handed hit by the CAPTAIN of the Caps which sent Sid reeling into Niskanen who delivered the final blow. Was Ovi called? NO.......and why the f%&k he wasn't is beyond me..........cause for sure he is the one who was responsible in the first place. This sucks big time. Arguably the best player in the NHL - a Hart contender again - is off the ice and possibly out of the play-offs and idiots are calling this a hockey play...........well **** that noise.

What Ovi did was pretty severe, however, Crosby was starting to fall and Niskanen contacted him at that time.

Penalty should have been called on Ovechkin for slashing but 2 minutes at best with no one getting ejected

Sorry, Cap..........I have to disagree. A player is responsible for his stick and after watching numerous slow-motion replays, what Ovi did was intentional. At the very very least he should have been called for high-sticking but the stupid ref didn't even call that. Ovi should be turfed - the a#$hole. Were it not for that hit, Sid would have been on his feet and able to deal with Matt Nishkanen. It was Ovi all the way.

I'm almost leery of watching Game 4 - it could be a very nasty game.

Edited to add: Okay, Sid -of Tim and Sid - just called me on saying it was intentional as no one can no what is going on in someone's head. Malicious, nasty, over-the-top.........but not intentional.

The Sens are are jamming the neutral zone like crazy tonight giving the Rangers all kinds trouble which they don't need as the Sens dominated play during the 1rst P. Anderson has faced 13 SOGs by the Rangers and not a single one has found the back of the net while the Sens close out the period up 2 zip......and this after having killed off a 4 minute penalty allowing only 4 SOGs. I'd say the guys are lookin' pretty sharp so far - good on them and hope they can keep it up.

NY finally got one by Anderson in the second bringing the crowd back into the game but it was a short-lived revival when the Sen's Captain got his second of the series to give Ottawa a two goal lead heading into the 3rd P.

Ottawa will advance to the Eastern Conference Final after eliminating the NY Rangers with a 5 - 3 win tonight. Anderson was a monster in goal especially in the 3rd P when NY gave him 15 SOGs - the 16th got by him..........but no more. Eric Karlsson has 5 points in this series and had the game winner. Congrats to the Senators............well done lads!

Sorry gopher but the season is over for your guys.
