Thinking about our Canadian status in America, we as Canadians are either "A"merican pertaining to a U.S. Citizen or an "Ah"merican pertaining to our continent. Oviously we pronounce it "Ah"merica and not "A"merica if you noticed. Or, how many agree with re-pronounciation "Re-Naming"of our Continent?

Or, "merica.

If there were any people who wanted to rename the continent, there are a few hundred Latin Americans who would go for this in a shot. Yet in Canada, America is the United States or the US. We don't hardly ever say the word America by itself. An odd taboo.

I say North American, as my friends from the US are Americans. So, neither of your options really works for me.

Now what on earth is so important about this thread that it keeps popping to the top of the pile despite no new posts?

"Those damn South Africans, how dare they put the continent name in their country name... rar rar rar... "
