Do You Trust This Computer?
Artificial Intelligence: Monster or Shangri-La?
Science fiction has long anticipated the rise of machine intelligence. Today, a new generation of self-learning computers is reshaping every aspect of our lives. Incomprehensible amounts of data are being collected, interpreted, and fed back to us in a tsunami of apps, smart devices, and targeted advertisements. Virtually every industry on earth is feeling this transformation, from job automation to medical diagnostics, from elections to battlefield weapons. Do You Trust This Computer? explores the promises and perils of this developing era. Will A.I. usher in an age of unprecedented potential, or prove to be our final invention?

AI is the beast.

There will be a reckoning very shortly, and we will find out exactly how pervasive this technology has become.

One good direct hit from a sun flare and bye bye all electronics. The survival rate would be minimal, with those still living a "primitive" lifestyle being among the survivors. Western capitalism has permeated most of the world population and along with it the total reliance on electronic gizmos. If the power went off, there would be about 3 days food supply. After that, mass starvation, killing, raping, looting, cannibalism would take care of the rest. As a civilization, we are royally hooped for putting all our eggs in one basket.
I have a map of wear all the vegetarians and vegans live, so I should be alright for a few months. :)
