It is pretty much a given that in the next decade or so more countries will develop or obtain nuclear weapons. Countries will have to rely on second strike capability and missile defense systems to thwart attack. It is one thing to have nuclear weapons and another thing entirely to use them.
Look at Pakistan. It is a very unstable country and until the earthquake relief provided by US soldiers was very anti-American. And it has been in a technical state of war with India—also a nuclear power—for decades. Pakistan while having a history of democracy has also been run by Islamic Generals under sharia law. And it has nuclear weapons. And it has never used them. Why? Within an hour of launching a nuclear warhead Pakistan would no longer exist. It’s leaders are aware of that.

Why making big story with those nuclear weapons with iran, when they are in fact 10 years away from making their first real nuclear bomb?
why not stop american coorporation that sells nuclear reactor and technologie to rogue state like in north korean? like for exemple ABB, which rumsfeld was in, instead of going after them, after they are done with it, that is ridicoulus and hypocryte.
You know this war in iraq, is a total failure,in all senses, so instead of putting iran away in the corner, we have just no choice to deal diplomatically with them.

Well I'm glad you're confident about that.
Who really knows for sure ?
If you're confident, well, maybe we all ought
to believe it.
All we know is they don't want a lot of interference.
They haven't played nicely with Europe about it.
And the Europeans wanted to run this show trying
to prove Diplomacy can work. They tried to
inspect everything but Iran isn't too cooperative,
are they? And Iran sure looks busy, don't they?
And about those North Korean reactors: That needs
further research and examination as to why that
happened.
Sincerely research that one. Look at how Europe,
China, Russia and a former President had very little
leverage and why they gave in to North Korea.
China likes it because it's a thorn to America,
but doesn't like all the illegal North Koreans flooding
their country, and is monitoring and using every
advantage of that situation, when they could turn
the whole business of North Korea off tommorrow if
they wanted to.
You should read a little recent history
on why all the powers to be, said it would lead to
peace, but instead it has led to North Korean threats
and North Korean black market sales to not only
other countries, but perhaps more frighteningly to
INDIVIDUALS wanting it.
Like I say, this combination of cynicism, confidence
and gullibility is amazing.

A little off topic but I was looking at a map of the world at night and the amount of light pollution. In Cuba, China and a dozen other nations which years ago were economically not doing so well and lite up more today. But besides most of Africa being in dark their is one nation which was almost completely in the dark and that was North Korea. Even during my most radical days as a hard leftist teenager I was always pissed off that the Stalinistic regime in North Korea called itself a Democracy and Socialist. It does not know the first thing about either of the two.

Come on jimmy, iran are driven by extremist zealot, who knows, that the coalition can t do anything about iran,because of the choas in iraq, so he is just playing games with the west, to prove they are though to arab world.
The reason why they sold nuclear reaktor to north korean, is easy, is to make money, and at the same time, it will raise the military budget for the american and around the world, so again, friends of rumsfeld can do money out of it.
Of course this is only an opinion, but an opinion based on what those guys are used to do.

For starters, ANY physics student who puts the time into it, can develop a nuclear weapon. The problem isn't the technology, but attaining the raw materials.
As far as the US selling technology to North Korea, that's a lot of CRAP. The US went into an AGREEMENT with North Korea; Drop the nuke weapons program, and the US provides technology for safe reactor construction for electrical production, plus coal for electrical plants, PLUS FOOD for a starving populace. The concern was to provide energy for North Korea without the risks from a Chernobyl style reactor system. The carrot was coal and food on top of it to sweeten the deal.
As ever, the North Korean government took the technology, coal and food and WELCHED on the deal. The United States went into a deal with Pyongyang in good faith, and that faith was violated.
Take it from experience and please take this to heart.[/size]
