A private members bill that would amend and strengthen the Motor Vehicle Safety Act and give Transport Canada the power to recall vehicles received a boost from all federal parties Wednesday night.
While government regulations may be needed to establish safety standards, the actual safe operation and maintenance of a vehicle should be the responsibility of the owner.
