I dunno about that Sanch, with global warming and all, Greenland is beginning to appear very hospitable. Plenty of fishing, abundance of fresh water, clean air and very lax laws. :D

A leftist moving to Canada? Bizarre!

Just kidding around, I don't see why the seal hunt would make anyone change their minds about Canada. It's not like the entire population goes out on some cultist killing spree.

 She's an absolute sweety though and will make a welcome addition to Canada thanks to her nursing skills. She's even bilingual (french/english), so I actually think she should have just been born in Canada in the first place. We now joke about the seal hunt all the time. I told her I think it's racist because they aren't allowed to kill the white baby seals, they have to wait until they turn brown.

This is entirely correct, but it is also correct that our peoples have gone beyond "interests" as evidenced by the daily interactions, of friends and relatives across our borders

This has nothing to do with our nation-states, why would you think it does?

Well Pasta you did stake a position and in this sense you keep company with others who randomly throw out names, segments of history and events and hope they magically stick together.

No, there's nothing random about it. Since before the Spanish-American War, the United states has been essentially an imperialist power. This is a hisorical fact. Everything I've mentioned has been consistent with this fact . It's not a new revelation.
