US President Donald Trump and British Ambassador to the US Peter Mandelson shake on the deal at the White House

The United States and Great Britain have announced a new trade deal.

The two great allies announced the deal with both countries bizarrely lavishing praise on the the other live on the internet, with both Trump and Starmer bigging each other up, with Trump (who is a half-British Anglophile) reminding us that it is 80 years since both countries were victorious in World War II.

The United States also announced it will reduce its tariffs on Britain as the two great Anglosphere countries once again displayed their admiration for each other.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Labour Party will be hoping the trade deal will benefit his Government and party as both Labour and the Tories were trounced by Farage's Reform Party in the local elections last week. Farage looks set to become the next PM.

Trump and British Ambassador Mandelson exchange banter over Rolls-Royce as the USA and Britain - those two great pals - got friendly in the Oval Office.

Trump - whose mother was British - said "The British have always treated us with great respect."

Does anyone know what sectors are actually getting tariff relief? Curious if this helps UK agriculture or if it’s just a headline grab ahead of another election cycle on both sides of the pond.

Trump tells Sky News that the trade deal between the USA and Britain will get bigger

"Many countries are very unhappy that we have chosen this one", said Trump

American President Donald Trump has told Sky News the US-UK trade deal will only get bigger and better as relations between the two great allies grow.

"This is a maxed out deal which we're gonna make bigger," he told Sky News US correspondent James Matthews in the Oval Office.

"It's a big deal now, but it's gonna grow of its own volition."

On a day of amazing scenes in the Oval Office with Trump in attendance, American and British officials shared jokes and friendly banter as the two great Anglophone powers once again showed the world the deep admiration and respect they have for each other.
