The former Russian cargo ship is registered in Limassol and flying a Cypriot flag. It was boarded by Americans but not found to be carrying anything illegal. But it is carrying legal arms of Iranian origin. I've yet to see any proof that it carries radioactive components for a dirty bomb.

If the arms have a legal destination, the US has no authority to prevent Iran's legal arms trade without violating piracy laws or declaring war on Iran.

The Egyptians have inspected the ship but also have not found anything illegal. Therefore they are obligated to let the ship pass through the canal.

I'm sure Americans and Israelis will continue to monitor this ship closely. Now that the Iranian ship's cover has been blown, it'll probably continue to its destination, where a shell game will take place and they'll make another attempt to smuggle these weapons to the Sinai on another ship. About 30% of the tunnels linking the Sinai to Gaza remain in operation.

Israel as the occupying power has the right to control what enters Gaza legally. But they can't control as easily what travels in international waters or through the Suez Canal.
