First it was sex, now smoking, what's next!!! :laughing7:

Considering that the ordinance they were discussing was regarding smoking 'in a car, in the presence of children', one could read that you're lamenting an inability to ___ in a car in front of kids! :laughing7:

Well, we might as well all become our neighbour's policeman. I'm more concerned about child endangerment issues regarding cellphones. A parent driving while on a cellphone while junior's strapped in the back can't possibly be in a position of responsible stewardship. The same is true of the numerous trolls now found walking a grocery isle gibbering away while their tot's scanning the produce. I guess I'll have to become more demonstrative: "What in hell are you doing? You've got a child to look after, dammit!"
That should get their attention.

Well, cellphones while driving is something you can be charged for in most places as 'driving with undue care and attention'.... as for the grocery store issue, there's not really any risk involved there other than some damaged cans or dented cereal boxes. Telling someone off just to scratch what I like to call a 'bi__h itch', isn't exactly the kind of thing 'neighbors' should be doing.

Karrie, a good point! Locally, drivers are everywhere juggling a cellphone while slurping their coffees. I'm sure some will be assaulted if they cause an accident. And I'm sure police are compiling stats where possible of cellphone related collisions. I have no idea what most of the folks are talking about while driving or whom they're bothering. It's all nitwittery.
As for the grocery isle terrorists, I find their behaviour more rude than dangerous to their children. But if the practice can be stopped through child endangerment charges, I'm all for it. I am not the least interested in listening to them prattle on nor being silent when they do.
