RE: Unique Canadian Diffe

Umm..i dunno. Ever have sex in a canoe? Hahaha. Ok..thats a complete stereotype. I have never had sex in a canoe. I can barely stand in one....never mind indulging in carnal pleasures.

Ummm..... ummmmmmmm. I dunno. What's Canadian? I think its easier to identify what is NOT canadian than what is.

There are two criteria to identifying a cultural group if we want to call Canadians that. One is self-ascription and other is ascription by others. Taking up the latter I once was perusing the international section in a Winn Dixie and under Canadian there was only one item-elbow macaroni. In the northeast they have a Canadian themed restaurant chain known as Bugaboo Creek. Very popular and the food is not bad. A lot of talking animals. This may be the only exposure to Canada some Americans get.

Our history... all of it is uniquely Canadian compaired to the USA. We have nothing common histoicly. The only province which was even close to Americanization at the time of the American revolution was Nova Scotia. the problem there was with the removal of the Acadian's and the influx of new British colonists, the colony was not ready to join the revolution.
