Arafat had a huge hand in it, as did the Syrians and Iran, in a more roundabout way.

I have been back and Lebanon is now the Paris of the ME again. But I disagree with you about Iran and so on. Hizbolla did not exist at the time. Israel wanted a hand in Lebanon to be closer to Syria. This is why they invaded. They struck a deal with Bashir Gemayel - president -elect of Lebanon and then when they are done with the Massacre, they put a bomb in the building he was in and nothing was left of him.

Isreal invavded because of two reasons-- an Isreali diplomat was assasinated in Europe and because of ongoing shellimg from Lebanon into Israel.
But rather than argue the case, we should talk about other things.
