They best start building loads of new nuclear power stations, then. Otherwise the cars won't be able to move.

new car fallout Michael Gove’s radical plan unravels as experts warn it will cost UK trillions to switch to electric cars by 2040

The Environment Secretary came under fire as it was claimed Britain will need TEN new nuclear power stations - while Tory MPs branded White Van Taxes for diesel drivers 'morally wrong'

MICHAEL GOVE’s radical car blitz was unravelling last night as experts warned Britain will need nearly TEN new nuclear plants to power a wholesale switch to electric cars in 2040.

National Grid said an extra 30GW of generating capacity may be required so Brits forced to go green can charge up millions of new motors.

Electric cars will have to charged at certain times to avoid blackouts

This would mean 10 new nuke plants or a staggering 10,000 wind turbines.

Campaigners added the final bill for new infrastructure and charging points will run into the “trillions” of pounds.

Quentin Willson of FairFuel UK added: “This is the most seismic change in personal transport for a quarter of a century. The Government can’t fill potholes so what chance for a brave new super electric highway.”

And furious Tory MPs last night blasted the Environment Secretary for paving the way for councils to clobber diesel drivers with new taxes – or ban them altogether – in a matter of months.

Ex-Minister and fuel campaigner Rob Halfon branded the plan “morally wrong” and demanded a scrappage scheme to compensate millions who face having to fork out for new expensive cars.

Many countries are turning away from fossil fuel
Why do all these efforts to reduce CO2 seem to involve increasing other GHGs?
Natags is almost pure methane, and water (the exhaust from hydrogen fuel cells) is the most potent of the GHGs.
Best of luck to the idiot countries that think they'll be able to power up millions of vehicles with sunshine and unicorn farts while trying to keep the power flowing to a modern economy at the same time.

An absolute failure to think things all the way through is the hallmark of the progtard though so none of this is particularly surprising.
