TWO people have been injured in a new letter bomb explosion today.

Police said an item of mail exploded in offices at Oaklands Business Centre, Wokingham, just after 9am.

The building was evacuated and two men in their 30s were treated for blast injuries to their hands and upper bodies.

South Central Ambulance Service said the mens' injuries were not considered serious and they did not need treatment in hospital.

The company targetted is Vantis, who describe themselves as accountants, tax and business advisers to small businesses.

They have denied initial reports that they are directly involved in dealing with speeding fines.

The attack comes after a woman was injured yesterday when a letter bomb exploded in the central London offices of Capita, another business outsourcing company who manage the congestion charge scheme.

Thames Valley Police said it was too soon to say whether the two incidents are connected.

An investigation has been launched in Wokingham while Scotland Yard’s counter-terrorism unit is continuing to look into yesterday’s explosion in Victoria Street.
