Evolution is ongoing and we have evolved along with other species. For the most part, major evolutionary changes only occur when there are major gaps in an ecology. Until that happens, evolution keeps changing species but not as noticeably. Humans are getting taller as a species, for instance. And we have been for quite a few hundred years.
