Bogie I like your hummingbird facts :D I have one that claims my garden for his kingdom! Once when I watered my baskets, the water coming out the bottom became a shower stall for the little gem. An awesome thing to watch, a hummingbird taking a shower.

It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. (DON'T try this at home!)

About a month ago my wife was out with our young grandson (2 1/2) and he was attracting a hummingbird that followed him home from the local playground. Kept buzzing around him, but not my wife. After they went into the house (our daughter's place in Waterloo, ON) they went to the back patio doors, and, there it was, hovering and looking in the window for our grandson! Remarkable!

Julio Iglesias was a lawyer before he became a music star. Comedian John Cleese is a lawyer, too.

there is something odd about hummingbirds. I reconize it because she who is me is odd herself.
Every year around December 20, the High school band from Reynolds school come to the senior's reside I work at and give a concert. On one side of the room are wall to floor windows, they go out onto a patio and gardens. When the band starts, out of nowhere comes the resident hummingbird. He comes to the window and hovers and stares in, watching and listening. This has happened for the past 4 years.

Everytime you see it, you got to wonder, whats up with that? Does he really come for the music? Is this little brain trying to connect with peapod brain. Where is Dr. Doolittle when you need him?

In Victoria there are humming birds that stay all year round, and if you are fortunate enough to have one make his terrority around you, than you are in for some unusual moments.

Yes bogie, a couple of transits, males that travel alone, sometimes in pairs. outcasts from pods. Its the most crueliest and beautiful scene to watch them hunt a seal down. Only saw it once but it was stunning.

my friend said something about this so i did some research...If you have any electronic device that contains microchips, you may own some chip graffiti, the smallest form of public art.
For many years, chip designers have placed tiny, embossed drawings in unused spots on integrated circuit chips. The drawings are made out of the same silicon and other materials that form the circuits. The art is dying out because most chip designs these days are created by automatic software, but many devices still contain older chips that hold the drawings.
There is great variety among the designs, which include human figures, animals, buildings, vehicles, appliances, comic strip characters, and cultural icons like "Mr. T," the "happy face" and Pac Man.

and something i know:

The only word in the English language with all five vowels in reverse order is "sUbcOntInEntAl."

undergradnitz, you are a interesting little rugrat :D Tell me something about yourself, do you fish?

The term "the whole 9 yards" came from W.W.II fighter pilots in the South Pacific. When arming their airplanes on the ground, the .50 caliber machine gun ammo belts measured exactly 27 feet, before being loaded into the fuselage. If the pilots fired all their ammo at a target, it got "the whole 9 yards

Odd that you should mention this one, as we just watched "The Whole 10 Yards" (sequel to The Whole 9 Yards) on DVD the other night. I was wondering where the term "The Whole 9 Yards" came from! Now I know!

The expression "hat trick" comes from cricket, where at one time, if a player scored three consecutive wickets, he was awarded a hat.
