The number of students who are transgendered is so small as to be a non-issue if this is put through anyhow.

And if a woman walked into a men's room, or vice versa, let's be honest, it should be a non-issue too. I mean seriously, women aren't copping a squat with the stall door open and their junk on display, and I'm sure men aren't doing it either.

Copping a squat? No. But I'm assuming these Trans-gender washrooms
don't have urinals then, as those (as far as I've ever seen, & I've never
been in a 'Trans-gender' washroom labeled as such to the best of my
knowledge) aren't tucked into stalls.

A nastier example of the urinal would be the old school piss troughs in
our dilapidated football stadium that's in the centre of the room with 25
drunks circling it and letting loose during 1/2 time and between beer
purchases. That would be one that I'm assuming most woman (and
many men) would avoid if possible. The 'water' (I hope it's mostly
water) is usually about an inch deep on the floor by the end of 1/2 time.

For a man it would be harder to urinate if a woman walked in.

Speak for yourself. I've had a woman write her own name in the snow
in my presence, and she didn't do it using her own factory equipment.;-)

For a woman it would be harder too. Make all the policies you want, most north americans aren't going to use the washrooms in a unisex fashion.

Maybe if they have some sort of toilet fetish. Seeing the opposite sex (or the same for that matter) in the bathroom isnt particularly appealing.

You should spend less time on Can Con and more time in the seedier parts of the web. Apparently, by the number of sites out there, it is quite appealing to a lot of people.

I cant really think of any rights we've lost recently (if ever). The trend seems to be the opposite. As time goes by democratic governments are giving people more rights, not less. Though there are a few exceptions. We are much more free now than we were 50-100 years ago.
A sure sign you education was wasted or you were taught by some government hack. Every time another piece of legislation passes we lose some freedom and rights. I have never seen or heard a law that says you 'can' do this. We only have laws to tell us what we are not free to do so each one erodes freedom. May I bring to your attention such items as the 'Patriot Act', the 'Anti-terrorism Act', Bill C-35 etc. All these stripped away our freedoms and gave the govt advanced powers to monitor and watch the citizens. Powers such as rendition which deny all rights are now used commonplace.

I thought about teaching but then I discovered I don't like kids. I imagine I'd like the parents and bosses even less.
It's gonna be like that forever...LOL

No big deal. Washrooms accessible to both sexes have been operating in Alberta schools for several years. Each washroom is divided into multiple private cubicles so it really doesn't amtter who uses the facility. Essentially it is a cost saving measure. It is simply cheaper to build one washroom serving both sexes than one for males and one for females.

It means you can't go in to adjust your clothing in front of the mirror, but there's nothing wrong with that I suppose.

Why not? In a mixed trans-gender/multi-gender situation, with cost savings
a one of the motivators tossed out often above with respect to the one
washroom for all....some give and take will have to be expected in
what anyone there will be exposed to, as opposed to rearranging
your junk out in the hallway. It's the compromise that's the
lesser of the two evils, isn't it?
