Toronto Rally for NDP: Huge Security Presence

Did anyone see the huge rally for the NDP in Toronto with the guy from the Bare Naked ladies.

What struck me though was the security that was with Layton. I have seen security for most of the candidates but not that much. Do you think it could have been from a death threat, that is what i heard from a guy at the rally who e-mailed me?

But if it was, wouldn't it be in the news??

Death Threat Against NDP?

One would think that were a death threat to have been received by the Honourable Jack Layton, that the media would have been informed in some manner. Perhaps it would have been a compromise in security to do so, though.

Then again, this is speculation.

It might have been speculation, probably, but it would probably have compromised security if there was a death threat.

Hope it is just rumor and speculation.

Having the media aware of a death threat or any danger to the canidate may actually backfire for puplic safty of that person as the person who made the threat may be a socko (duh) and may like the puplicity he got from just the threat and will follow threw with the act of violance

Agreed, maybe that is why there was stepped up security, and no questioning from the media.

Still just rumor though.

Toronto not Vancouver. Svend wasn't there.

Layton is a big supporter of Svend Robinson and maybe Robinson was in Toronto to encourage voters to vote for his vision and show the true NDP philosophy. Svend may have shown up as a thank you for his good friend, Jack Layton.

He must be due for one of his bi-polar moments.

(fortnately, the NDP thief is trailing by a wide margin in the latest Vancouver Centre poll).

I just hope that the MP Svend the NDP Thief sits beside in the House of Commons keeps his eye on his wallet and Blackberry.
