The Jays are really gutting this one out. Sanchez has not allowed a run and struck out 7. Kevin Pillar hit a homer for the only point on the scoreboard.

Sanchez is a pitching machine tonight setting a new career high with 10 strike-outs. The Jays got another run and have two on the board.

Jays aren't getting a lot of hits tonight but they are marching through the Tiger's pitching order. Here in the 8th they are facing the 3rd or 4th pitcher, lost track.

Make that 12 strike-outs tonight for Aaron. He's struck out all but two of the Tiger's batting order and some of those twice.

And he pitched through 8 innings

The Jays are giving Aaron a chance to have a complete game.

Aaron gives up a two hits and Osuna comes out to replace him. Too bad for Aaron.

Cabrera hits a double and scores the tieing run

Off to extra innings.

Detroit comes back to win the ball game in the 10th.

Pretty lousy way to lose a ball game and a series. Just when they were starting to not suck ... back to sucking. Hopefully Dickey can right the ship tomorrow.

sanchez pitched a great game, just too bad he couldn't finish, but jays beat themselves,

stupid base running by martin, then those two strikeouts in the top of the 9th, with nobody

out, bautista and encarnation, (sp?), whatever, both struckout, and they both looked like they

had never played the big leagues before. they had their chances, left far too many runners stranded

all night, so just lick your wounds boys, and come out swinging next time.

nobody can take away the great game by sanchez, he didn't get the win, just a no decision, and probably

his best game as a blue jay.

Blue Jays bats are heating things up today in Detroit and Dickie with help from the outfield has held off the Tiger's big hitters pretty well so far. 7 - 2 Jays in the 5th.

Yesterday's game was pitched for Boyd -- forever to be known as the price paid for David Price.

Hopefully they can hang on today.

Oh goody, they have gone to their bullpen.

Much better outing for the Jays, IRBS. Just about everyone had a little part to play in the win and now they go back to TO for the game you'll be at tomorrow. Here's hoping they pull off another one for you.

Well, it was an exciting game. A well deserved loss though for the Jays. Takeaways from the game from seeing it first hand in the stands:

1. Stroman sucked. Really he pitched like crap from the get go. Not sure what is up with him. Certainly not the staff ace. I would start thinking about sending him down for a tuneup and bringing up Huchitson.
2. Loup sucked worse. 1 batter, 1 HR, 1 BS.
3. Osuna got the loss. Appropriate. Not the type of inning expected in the 9th of a tie game. I won't say he sucked because he didn't pitch that badly. He didn't pitch like he needed to in that situation however. At least he spared us the pain of an extra inning loss in the cold.
4. Offense was great early, really sucked late. When Batista mysteriously was pulled for a pinch runner, the offense just stopped.
5. Message to Donadson. When ball hits the plate and goes into fair territory ... it is a fair ball. You might want to run for 1st base. Particularly when you are down by 1 with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th.

But entertaining game. Like I said, the team that played better got the W.

bautista had a problem with his hip area, it was noticeable on the bench, so it seems he asked for
a pinch runner himself.

ROCK ON EDWIN!!!!!! Such a classy way to win the ball game. Walk-off homer to take this one 4 - 3 in extra inning. Hats off to the closers today too, they didn't allow any runs keeping the game tied through the 9th.

I read that now. Not clear from the stands. It certainly is apparent he is the heart and soul of the offense.

He'll be happy to see the team come through today.

Greg feels that Osuna is getting to gimmicky and should keep things simpler by throwing only his fast ball and change-up.

Hope he is back for tomorrow's game. He is my son's favourite player (now that Alex Rios is no longer on the team -- or playing baseball).

Man oh man, IRBS................that 3-run homer by Edwin in the 6th must have been so exciting to see. Hope it perked your son up as I see Jose is still sidelined with that hip problem. 8 - 4 going into the 7th. Edwin's sent 4 runners home so far in the game.

3 up - 3 down for Happ top of the 7th

Russel Martin's sac fly scores another run for the Jays in the 7th

Joe Biagini on the mound in the 8th for the Jays

Bagini loads bases gives up a run and he's off the mound

Floyd comes in gives up a pop fly that scores another Oriole and the score is now 9 - 6 with only 1 out and 2 on base.

Floyd loads the bases

Big, big double play saves the inning for the Jays...........whew

Edwin's found his groove...............solo homer in the 8

Saunders homers right after Edwin

Smoak walks on ball 4 with 1 out

Pillar flies out

Barney flies out and the inning is over but the Jays scored two and the score sits at 11 - 6 going to the top of the 9th

Jason Grilli on the mound for the Jays

1 down - strike-out

base hit

Jason strikes out 3 batter for 2 away

3 pitches, 3 strikes and the Jays win the ball game.................really nicely done guys. Great win to give them a 2 - 1 lead in the series.

BC's own Michael Saunders gets his 11th homer of the season and has been consistent at bat for the Jays. Go Michael.

Aaron Sanchez will take the mound for the Jays tomorrow.

It was an exciting game. And while the complaint on Thursday was we were freezing, today being in 200 level over right field in baking sun all day, we missed that complaint. Let's just say were are medium well and leave it at that. Thank God for sunscreen or we would have looked it too.

Happ pitched great except for a couple hickups .... one lasting a whole inning. I was quite surprised when Jays took big lead in bottom of the 6th that Happ came out and did the 7th. But shows what I know as he did a 1-2-3 inning. The score looked lopsided but it never felt secure. Baltimore has some hitters which looking a the scorecards one can safely say the Jays pitchers have not found a way to get them out. Davis being one of them. Today's star was obviously Edwin. He did not make an out with 3 hits including 2 HR and 2 BB. What a way to break out of an 0 for 29 slump (before his HR in bottom of 10th yesterday).

Jays had a questionable bottom of the order with Barney, Goins, Thole. Barney has good average now but it seems to be going in wrong direction. That being said, Barney produced as did Goins. And Goins and Thole were gone mid game for pich hitters. I don't think Martin truly gets an off day except maybe when Dickey pitches. I think they miss dinero(sp) who was a great #2 catcher last year.

Good game. Hope they make it 3/4 tomorrow and gain some ground.

yep, good ball game today, orioles have a big team, strong hitters and good players, I like watching

these two teams play each other, good strategies, I was sorry to see goins pulled, but they wanted

a right handed batter so out he came, I feel bad for him, he is so so good defensively, and he did

get a long hit today right to the fence, jone's couldn't handle it. the jays have some real good

infielders, I'm starting to forget about tulo, but of course he's one of the best, wonder how long

he'll be out. jose should be back soon, they are just being careful with him, don't want anymore

long term injuries.

looking forward to sanchez tomorrow.

Tulo was in rehab stint but was pulled on Friday due to re-aggrivating the injury. So a setback. Probably another 2 weeks at least as I assume they will back him up to square 1 and be even more cautious this time.

Baltimore starter gone down 5-0 in bottom of the 1st. Not good (for Baltimore) since series has bee hard on relievers from both sides.

What a battle between opposing batters today. Homers all over the place from both sides. Sanchez did not have a good outing today. Fans sure getting their money's worth of great at bats today.

Top of the 7th, Jays lead 10 - 7. Jay's switch pitcher Pat Venditte on the mound.

Pat retires 3 in order.

Fabulous game. Jays take the series against the Orioles 3 games to 1. Really good to see lively bats today as the pitching, albeit against some of the best batters in the league, was iffy. Big strike- out for Grilli with the tieing and go- ahead run on base.

Jays hang on 10-9. No Osuna? Looked like they passed him by in an obvious save situation.

Apparently, Gibbons wanted to give him an extra day of rest.

Considering that Tulo is still recouping and Jose wasn't in today, I thought the guys did pretty darn good against Baltimore. 5 straight series wins so far, IRBS - not too shoddy.

enjoyable game today, well, at least after orioles came back to make the score close, sanchez had a great
start, but I do think that big run for the foul ball, and also the long long wait before 2nd inning
caused his rhythum to get off, but however he hung in there, had some struggles, but came away with
the win, seems fair to me, cause last game he didn't get the win, but played fabulous, so this kind
of evens it up.

some great hitting in this game, comical watching Edwin running to 3rd, then home, nice fish flop at
3rd, then a struggle making it home, he is a great ball player, but not the greatest athlete in the
world, just glad he wasn't injured in that slide, looked very awkward, and his hand hit the infielders
foot.

I was glad to see goins get that nice double, otherwise he would have had a so so game, and back in
gibbin's black book for batting.
