A couple who picked all six winning lottery numbers have missed out on the £35 million jackpot after their online transaction on the app failed to go through.

Edwina and David Nylan from Leicester tried to claim their winnings, but were told by Lotto operator Camelot that there was no record of their transaction.

The couple chose the winning numbers by using an app on Mr Nylan’s phone, which generates random numbers and then found they had insufficient funds on their online account.

After topping up, the couple believed their purchase had gone through.

I have just had to carry on with things and not get too down.

“Shocked isn’t the word, but as a family we stick together and just have to be grateful for what we’ve got.
