Very interesting article. And ironically, as obvious as it is, it had actually never crossed my mind until now. I always focused on the economic advantages of free trade in terms of economies of scale, localization, and efficiency. This article takes a completely different tack exploring the criminal-law elements of protectionism and pretty much makes a moral mockery of protectionism in the process.
