I know we have raccoons here and they don't seem as bad as some of these cats left to run wild by irresponsible cat owners.
No. there not as bad as cats. They will kill a cat though. I think the problem with people when it comes to cats is that they don't believe the cat is part of their family. But rather a possession or accessory. Not equal to a dog. Can fend for itself.
I think these same people would be shocked to learn that most domestic cats die within the first 2 yrs of life on the streets. that they die horribly painful deaths.
We had a case of a family that simply did not want the cat their child had brought home. Instead of bringing it to the shelter they left it on their patio. With no food no water and no shelter. The cat cried and cried and cried and thank god it did. Because it was a neighbour that called the SPCA who subsequently called out shelter (New West has no SPCA) These people would have let this poor creature die because they couldn't be bothered to do anything about it.
