oh and I think I will now change my "Nice shoes" pick up line to "I'm in the armed forces wanna *censored*."

Jon

What do you mean I don't know what's going on? Explain that to me, Claudius.

1. Meaing you can't even see that its not an increase at all.

2. Meaning that you never knew til now how many condoms were being used and so now it's 'self-rightious rage' time.

3. Meaning yer not sincere because this is just a part of your overall "bring 'em home' garbage and really has nothing to do with the news.

4. Meaning you have no idea how the military should be used and just because you pay tax on you $22k a year doesn't make you in a position to make the call....yer not the Attorney General, so shut up.

5. Meaning you have no idea about Afghanistan except maybe where it is.

6. Meaning you probably defended the gun registry until the very last, despite the utter waste of billions, and here you are trying to convince me you care one way or another about the money....you're just playing your usual 'hate the troops' song, so again I say, STFU.

Shall I go on?

I can't see an increase in what?

Yes, I didn't know that I was paying for condoms until I read this thread. But I am allowed to be outraged at this. I am allowed a say in how tax dollars are spent.

No, this is not part of my "bring them home" stuff. I'm pissed because the Canadian Forces are fucking people on my dollar.

I do know how our military should be used. It should be used to protect this country. And I don't pay taxes. I'm a 16 year old teenager who doesn't have a job yet. But it doesn't mean that I don't get a say at how tax dollars are spent. So go fuck yourself!

I know where Afghanistan is on a map. I also know what we are doing in Afghanistan. We are there so we can help the less fortunate people because we are apparently a wealthy country. We are also there to destroy the Taliban.

I never supported the gun registry so don't assume things, asshole. Go fuck yourself!

RE: The very best for our

Actually if you're only 16, I hate to pull this on you, but you don't have the right to speak about how the tax dollars are spent....in the sense that you can't even vote yet to determine how they are spent...and you don't spend them (well 'cept GST :))
... Also my advice which I'm certain will go though one ear and out the other is that if you're only 16 you should really start assuming, right form the start, that you're probably lacking some vital information or perspective
....Most don't learn that in life until life comes along and kicks the living snot out of you and everything you thought you knew is suddenly gone and replaced by the ugly vicious savage truth of the world (my teacher was Somalia).

...and seeing as you are only 16 this will be my last post to you my little, "I'm-going to-knock-your-teeth-out", turtle-dove.

I’m sorry but I’m not going to converse about these things with someone who isn’t old enough to *c e n o r e d :)* yet himself, ('cept maybe with himself). But don't let that stop you from judging us all. You go right ahead.

Actually, I get to say how I think the tax dollars should be spent. Its called freedom of speech. Its something democratic countries, like Canada for example, have. But obviously, you don't know that. So go fuck yourself, parasite!

Jon, put the shovel down. Translation. You are in too deep stop digging.

I worked for the DnD on a co-op term back in the eighties. I remember the military folks I worked with would all bring these white cardboard boxes for their lunch each day. I asked about them and found out that each morning the military personnel would drop by a mess on base and pick up their lunch, free of charge. Boy was I pissed. Here I am a tax-payer working at the same place and these guys get a free lunch from the government each and every day. Then I found out how much some of these guys made, how long their hours were, where they lived and the kicker for me was the amount of freedom they gave up to be in the military, I quickly realized that these guys deserved their lunch. They deserve their condoms and a whole lot more.

So Jon, when someone says that you are 16 and you haven't a clue what you are talking about. It's not because they are trying to cut you down. It's because they wish they could be 16 and talk shit and not have to worry about it. I personally will trade my bag of troubles for your bag of troubles as long as I can have those extra years along with it.

Jon, I dont actully see where the Condom Usage is said to be used by troops Based in Afghanistan....I mean there are 2,300 troops out of +15,000 army troops we do have....Therefore the magority of the condom Usage would be back here in Canada....Meaning Tax money is more likly going toward Soldiers getting on the hussys that hang out in the Bars in Gagetown....Or maybe even with their wives....

But I highly Doubt they are in Afghanistan raiding a house and then makeing a date with a local girl....I mean...when would they find the time to do it? its not like they have a normal job 9-5 where they can take an afagn girl out to a drive in movie after work. they are ethier on patrol or at base...and if they are doing it at base there arent alot of females around, so those girls are ethier really sore or the shower secnes are pretty OZ like.

RE: The very best for our

That pisses me off. Our tax dollars are being spent on condoms so our troops in Afghanistan can *censored* someone while their over there. Excuse me while I go freak out!

You clearly are, as cladius pointed out, lacking perspective aren't you? I just finished saying in an earlier post that thousands of condoms are used each year to safeguard our weapons from dirt and moisture. But, in one ear, and out the other no? Furthermore in Afghanistan there is a no fraternization policy, both with the locals and other service members. While I know first hand that sexual acts do occur between members of the military whilst in theatre, the ban on such activities makes them both far and few between, not to mention risky. If you're caught fornicating with another service member while in theatre, they ship you home, no questions asked. So your typical, teenage, knee-jerk reaction, is utterly out to lunch.

Haha CF boxed lunches. We've still got those, albeit now you only get them when you're forced to work over lunch hour. They're better than they used to be, but still i'd rather pack my lunch any day. This is something I was drawn to:

the kicker for me was the amount of freedom they gave up to be in the military

Most civilians fail to realize that when we sign on the dotted line, we give up a large chunk of our freedoms. Whole sections of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms no longer apply to us, in and out of uniform. There's an old saying in the military; we're part of a dictatorship to defend a democracy.

To bring this all home and back in to perspective. Yes, the CF goes through a wack of condoms free of charge, techically. However many are used for things other than sexual means, as I pointed out. Bitch and moan all you want Jon, but you're out of your element on this one. You may fail to realize that I, even though i'm a soldier, pay my taxes. I get ass raped every spring, just like every other Canadian over 18. In a sense, I help pay my own salary. It's a screwed up notion to be sure. The bottom line is we don't get a free ride like many assume, we work hard, endure things you in your parents basement cannot even fathom, and we still, in the end, pay taxes just like everyone else.

Maybe this will make you feel better...The prime minister makes almost $300,000 a year plus a hell of a lot of expenses, a cabinet minister makes about $200,000 and an MP makes $140,000....Imagine how many condoms you could buy with that money from taxpayers pockets!!

Then we would have condoms everywhere.

Even 2-3 condoms would be used at a time.
