You should always get nervous when a government uses phrases like "dangerous and violent language." Such phrases often crossed the lips of zealots and tyrants in the past, as they worked to control the masses and kill opposition to their aim. That dangerous and violent language was always tied to a demographic of people. Hitler used the Jews, Donald Trump used Mexicans, Justin Trudeau used Canadians. The aim is simple. Divide the people, then turn them against each other while building your base. Now, here is a test to see if you were one of the people affected by this tried and tested political tactic. Do you feel a need to attack me for lumping either Donald Trump or Justin Trudeau in with Hitler? If you do, they’re tactic worked, if you don’t and are interested in what comes next, congratulations.

I will concede that Hitler is an extreme example, and that neither Trump nor Trudeau ever elevated to that level of evil. But both used the same polarization and xenophobia to advance their political cause. The pandemic gave Justin Trudeau’s ample opportunity to buy votes and destroy peoples lives. Initially, the federal government came out and did what governments are supposed to do. Give updates, offer direction, and always tell the people, “Remember, we’re in this together.” --Justin Trudeau.

I don’t have the footage, but I remember it well, the vote buying began a couple weeks in. The prime minister would walk out to his podium and begin with something like this, “If you’re an indigenous two spirited trans person who just got laid off from your job as a molecular physicist, we have a cheque for you.” And yes, I am using tongue and cheek, but I am also guarded that my comment will be misconstrued as anti-trans-two spirited-indigenous-molecular physicist.

A very real fear in the environment our federal government has fostered.

No group in a society should have the power to shut down discussion in this country simply by the accusation of phobia. But in Canada, the tyrannical minority has been given the power to do just that. There are generally two camps now. Those who defend language for all its ugliness and those who want to sanitize everyone’s mind by making words illegal, by destroying classic works of literature. If I were to go on public record and disagree with one of these groups, I would be labeled with a scarlet letter. Example, if I were to criticize Queers for Palestine for being a bunch of uneducated morons supporting a place that throws people off of buildings for being gay, I would be called homophobic and Islamophobic. That's how easy it is for tyrannical minorities shut down discussion. But those are the facts. Another fact is that includes Iran, who hangs them from cranes as an example to all other sodomites. THis is your fate if you go against Allah’s law. Iran is also in charge of Human rights at the United Nations.

Social media was a shining example of how a tyrannical minority can make people afraid to speak up. The trucker convoy illustrated how our government divided Canadians. The fringe group had come to Ottawa, probably financed by far right Trumpers, neo-nazi for sure, and they would probably storm parliament. They were the unvaccinated fringe of Canada, and that’s where friends and family members were pitted against one another by our federal government.

Henceforth, it will be a morning raid with the bouncy castle and kids as human shields. People ate this shit up. Throw in a couple of crazies showing up with guns in Coutts Alta and getting arrested, while the actual protestors of mostly farmers, told the RCMP, “we are peaceful.” And drove their John Deer tractors home. I watched people who had been friends for years turn on each other and, to this day, not speak again. One vaccinated, one unvaccinated. Both survived the pandemic. But their friendship died at the peril of a disagreement in which the government pitted one Canadian against another.

"Yes, there is a small, fringe element in this country that is angry, that doesn’t believe in science, that is lashing out with racist, misogynistic attacks, but Canadians, the vast majority of Canadians, are not represented by them," Trudeau said. "And I know we'll not allow those voices, those special interest groups, those protesters — I don’t even want to call them protesters, those anti-vaxxer mobs — to dictate how this country gets through this pandemic and how we recover our economy free from lockdowns, where people go back to work and back to doing the things they want to do and keep our kids safe," he finished.

I got all my shots, in case anyone thinks I’m one of those fringe, misogynistic, racist, anti-vaxxers raging post-pandemic. We went and got the shot. But I didn’t judge people who questioned the vaccine. I had questions, but I took a leap of fate that scientists knew a lot more than I did and I don’t regret making that decision. Now, if an arm were to grow out of my face next year, I might feel differently, but that has yet to happen. I watched people carry the government's water like CNN in the first Gulf War, repeat their talking points like puppets.

Now that we have emerged from the pandemic, the reality of the vote buying and the crushing weight of energy costs starting at the farmer and ending at the consumer has made it financially difficult for the masses to house and feed themselves. Common sense comes with hunger and desperation, but we are held hostage by Ottawa, and the tyrannical minority of Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh continues…
