The survival of Canada
Dear Fellow Canadians
As the new President of the Canadian Action Party, I am taking on the administrative role of assisting in the further growth of a solid Canadian oriented Federal political party. It is my duty and privilege to work with our leader Ms Constance Fogal, a passionate, knowledgeable, long time activist and straight forward individual. Together we are working on behalf of Canadians to reform the undemocratic system currently driving the political scene in our country If you love this country as much as I do, you will take some time to consider what is really hanging in the balance this election. It is no longer a case of choosing between one colour party or another. It is no longer about who is the most corrupt, or who did what to whom within the party. The government of Canada belongs to us. We are the government in a democratic system. If we are no longer the government, then we do not have true democracy. That is what is on the line this election!
Democracy, freedom of speech, remaining a united strong independent nation is all on the line. The line is not wide, in fact it has become narrower and narrower with each new trade deal and border agreement. You know in your heart that something is wrong in Ottawa, as most Canadians have known for sometime. We can’t help but see, even though the media doesn’t always tell us everything that is happening, we see people out of control, grasping at straws, making side deals and back room secret deals. That is not open democracy!
Canadian Action Party was founded in 1997 at its founding members came from all different political ideologies. They were former Reform party supporters who felt betrayed when their party was reformed by Ottawa, they came from NDP who know that the NDP isn’t taking a strong enough stand against unfair trade deals like NAFTA,. The trade deals that are impacting so greatly on Western Farmers, as well as Softwood lumber, the fisheries, the potatoes and helping to create the ever popular corporate preference ‘part-time, no benefits job’, to name but a few. Free Trade was never fair and Canadians knew it. That is why we voted the Mulroney Conservatives out. We have former Liberals as well and they were just as frustrated with what they saw as unfulfilled promises and the loss of our civil rights. They heard their leaders say they were getting rid of the GST and the Free Trade, and the leaders did neither once they were elected. All of these people came together in the Canadian Action Party to bring forward a real grassroots party, powered by Canadians for Canadians. They came together to form a united party fighting for one thing, CANADA!
We know that our money has been mismanaged and we know that the most scandalous event of all isn’t the sponsorship. It is much worse! It is the over $500 billion debt, which means a payment of about $37 billion every year in interest payments for Canadians. We know this did not have to happen. We know that we CAN afford all our needs, including publicly owned, funded and delivered health care, education as well as our infrastructure. I don’t just mean a rich province like Alberta, I mean all of Canada. When the Conservative government started bailing out the private banks in Canada in 1992, they stopped requiring them to hold reserves in the Bank of Canada. The Bank of Canada was designed to be used to help sustain all our essential services. There is no reason for any area in Canada to be considered a ‘have-not’ province. This is unconscionable. We can do better, we know how, we only require the political will to do it. Canadian Action Party knows that as a small party funded by Canadians we don’t have the media support to inform Canadians, but we are making progress through word of mouth and the internet. We look forward to the opportunity to fully debate these matters with the other parties. Our leader, Connie Fogal is prepared to participate in the National Leaders Debate and we trust that Canadians committed to the democratic process will demand that all parties be heard, so that you can make an informed choice at the ballot.
Canadian Action Party is a very unique party that attracts people who are willing to stand up and speak the truth. We attract fearless leaders and informed voters. We speak to the issues that matter to Canadians. We base our policies on what is fundamentally good for families, for our children and for our future. Canadians have driven the formulation of our policies based on their passion for this country, our environment and our pursuit of peace in the world.
