Well that might good enough for you mike, but we don't have to agree with you on that. The rev simply made a observation and asked a question. As for Jays word, well don't even go there

Pea. You have already shown the world you hate me. Can't you just leave me alone? I can understand if I'm breaking the rules (like the Rev is doing) but I'm not....

You're right, you don't have to agree with me on that, and you are completely free to believe whatever you want. My point is that this is an open forum; to make an accusation like that you should have proof - not just your 'gut feeling'.

Actually he is accusing me if passing someone else's work off as mine, and that is plagiarism. The terms of use clearly state “These services are available free of charge, but may not be used in the following manners: Defame, abuse, harass or threaten others;…..”

A simple apology will do.

For the record; when I use other people’s work, I either past a link, or use quotation marks.

I'm actually pretty good at recognising styles, Jay. Yours is repeating lines learned elsewhere by people that you should know better than to associate with. Go ahead though, get drunk and mad and say something about my wife.

Mike, if it was a personal attack I would have made Jay cry like a little girl. It was an honest question based on long experience. I presented my evidence...Jay's posting history and the fact that the post in question does not match it. Unless you or he can present evidence to the contrary, then I would suggest that it's you who have no case.

Since it seems that we are expected to pretend that Jay is writing his own posts....

Sure it was politicking, but the ends did justify the means in this case. The death of communism through the vehicle of Afghanistan was a brilliant scheme implemented, apparently, without the USSR even suspecting what we were really up to. Also, it saved Europe from USSR’s influence or worse.

US involvement in Afghanistan wasn't at all brilliant, it led to needless suffering and we're still feeling the after-effects. The Soviet Union was failing anyway, and the lie that Reagan had anything whatsoever to do with its fall is a fallacy put forth by those who refuse to understand that all Droolin' Ronnie was capable of was committing war crimes and napping at his desk.

The rest of your post is just more mindless drivel garnered from right wing opinion columns and recycled through the bile of those who instruct you.

No, I think what he was doing was saying was maybe one of your friends wrote it for you. No he can't prove it, so move on..or we could tend to things that we can really prove...ie..vanni fucci wife.
Move this thread on.

I would imagine that as long as I'm posting around here, there will be no recess.

I don't think any one person could say they ended it.

Well Jay, I for one like having you here. Maybe you could ignore those that seem to get their ginch in a bunch when you post?

Actually, it's clearly an attack on the lack of content in your post and those you garnered the information from, nothing about you personally at all, Jay.

Lech Walesa arguably played the largest part in the final failure of Soviet control because he demonstrated to others that the people weren't powerless.

I think Gorbi saw the writing on the wall though and did his best to maintain at least some influence by bringing in reforms. If Andropov was still there when things started to really come apart, it likely would been extremely bloody, for instance.

Are the attacks, insults, inciting etc going to stop?

He is attacking the content of your post jay, he already told you not to take it personally. Suck it up and prove your facts, stop whining and trying to play the victim, when it suits you...answer schmitt and pasta man posts...try to forget about the rev for 5 mins! On with the topic.

Sorry about that. I get my wife (she has an Eng Lit degree), to proof read all the important stuff I write. So I have grown "grammar lazy" over the years.

Attempt to steer thread

Well if the terrorists are really after us, then why don't they come get us? Instead of going after the other countries?
That all depends on who the terrorist are!

Answer - agreed, Gorbi could see it as a fruitless effort, especially after the stinger missiles arrived to shoot down their helos. One should remember that Russia was 'invited' in by the Afghan government to help quell the Islamic rebellion (mostly in the eastern region).

Over the years and with the influx of nearly $50,000,000,000 worth of weapons (including many tanks taken from Iraq under CIA planning), the Islamic revolution threw off the yoke of Communist oppression only to find a new oppressor in the American Fascists. Afghanistan was to be the transit corridor for the oil pipeline out of what had been the southern U.S.S.R. So the USA installed the head of an oil company as the President of Afghanistan and now continue to suppress the will of the people.

The President of the USA is not attempting to protect America, just the interests of Corporate America (read Fascism) at the expense of mostly poor moslem civilians and many mislead american troops.
