I would have thought that after CBC's Greatest Canadian contest, that we would have had a stamp or coin in honour of Tommy Douglas by now...

Buried inside the newspaper article was the idea of a 5 dollar coin still being thought of. I hope not! We'll need to carry damn purses to hold all the coins!
With that many being minted,perhaps I will get a few to put away for the future. Missed out on the Remembrance Day quarter!

When I go out, I have to stuff the following in my jacket: wallet (I wear sweats most of the time - no back pocket), cigarette case, Zippo, brush (my pony-tail keeps tangling), keys, sunglasses, some coins, any shopping list I may have...and so on.

In the warmer months,I stuff all my gear into a nice Alpine Beer fanny pack.There's only one bulge I allow in my pants :lol:
I am glad they are finally putting a Canadian on a coin. I saw the ceremony on Newsworld a couple days ago. It looks good. They should of left the Loon on it and put Terry on where the Queen is instead. I always thought as well the Queen should come off the 20 and replaced with Banting or Terry Fox or Tommy Douglas. There are enought distinguished Canadians that could go on our coins. I say put them on coins and 20. We do not need the Queen on our money anymore. The time has come for change.
I know the mint has been yapping for a few years about a five dollar coin. If they do that they should still keep the 5 dollar bill. I wish they would of kept the two dollar bill as well when toonie came out. Nothing wrong with both. The loonie because it is a small denomination was ok to replace the bill but not the five. My pockets are too heavy as it is.
