The King travelled in style through England's largest county North Yorkshire by travelling on Britain's most famous and beloved train - the Flying Scotsman.

Completed in February 1923, the grand old lady is now 100 years old, still going strong and is a British institution. She's the most famous steam locomotive in the world.

Pulling into Pickering station, King Charles III stepped onto the foot plane of the engine to see how the locomotive works.

A body'd think a man his age woulda learned how locos work a long time back.

He probably had a train set as a kid (a very expensive one, of course, because his mum and dad had a few bob) like my dad and other men of his generation.

He spent a good while setting the tracks up, placed the train upon it, then just watched it go round and round. Did he not find that boring? Meanwhile, kids in 2023 are playing on Halo 5 on whatever hi-tech electronic gadget they own. I'd rather play on Halo 5 than with a train set.
