They should have left her out of it. She was unnecessary for the storyline.
That's the question everyone is asking. My guess is....Ryan's AA sponsor. Seems weird I know but, Mark mentioned having been to Ryan's meetings before and I find it too weird that they'd have Keith Carradine play a bit part character that only shows up once in a series. I think there's way more to him than meets the eye.

Yes she was totally unnecessary and she spoiled everything... it's like they are afraid to kill off regular characters on regular TV and that is what ruins the show...they keep coming back even when they should be dead...when I saw her it completely turned me off... and she acted all bossy and stupid and Joe and Ryan were all melty and then she fuks him up emotionally and walks away.
I don't know who wrote it, but they did a piss poor job unlike the rest of the shows the finale was the worst of the lot. I was seriously hoping...just shoot her. Kill her, you'd best not bring her back...but of course they will. It becomes like warming regurgitation.

She simply wasn't needed in my opinion. But I do like that Ryan didn't kill him, if he hadn't learned anything from watching Mike go over the edge this season that would have been a sorry disappointment. He didn't choose not to kill him so that Joe could live, he chose not to kill him so that he (Ryan) could.

It could make the character relevant again. I'd hate to see him go out of the show entirely, James Purefoy just does an amazing job with the character. Plus I'm sure when he looked around at the raving looneys, nutjobs and psychopaths he was surrounded by (he even gave Emma an eye roll) he must surely have thought "what the hell am I doing with all these crazy people."
I just can't stomach the thought of her on my show. Let him go elsewhere for his fap material, lol.
