I never heard of this contest before so I went to their web site. Interesting music. I liked Can Bonomo most because it is such a lively mix of folk and pop, great stage presence and well staged act. Looks like a very prestigious event. Too bad we don't see stuff like that over here. We get stuck with western pop which gets more and more boring because most of the acts all look the same, sing and dance the same and the music is monotonous.
Thank you cliffy, it's very kind of you to share your ideas.
I didn't like it so much at first but after some time, i loved it.
We advised him to mix more folk music in the song to make it more exotic but it's his choice.
The contest became an European tradition and it is fun for us, however, to tell the truth, this contest is not so just, i mean voting system can turn into neighbours' kissing ass
Sertab Erener, representing Turkey in Eurovision Song Contest 2003 won the song contest.

after that success, Turkey could take second, third, fourth place but no better.
I hope Can Bonomo win.
Last year, the Eurovision song content was utterly pathetic. In my view, one of the contestants from the very bottom of the barrel won (Azerbaijan). Well, not to mention that they were all pretty bad. I didn't watch it the night of broadcast but instead waited until the next day to watch the final show. To be honest, I literally fell asleep at my desk after the 4th song. I did end up watching the entire programme later on though.
Some years there are some gems that are discovered by the Eurovision song contest (I.E. Celine Dion). The last few years have been pretty bad!
The song of Azerbaijan(our brother country) was ok but not good, i didn't like it much, either.
the only thing i liked about it was the Azerbaijani couple walked on the stage holding the Turkish flag instead of theirs.
I agree with you, the last few years have not been so good compared to previous years.
