agree, it would throw a real loop into their lives and distresstheir comfort zone. Wonder if the Romans fell into this trap too. the trap of feeling invincible, while their gov't went about doing more extreme things. It can be such a gradual insidious process, and people get caught off guard and by the time they do "get it" it is usually too late. Money, (wealth) greed , and power were the key factors in the glory days of Roman empire too. Ethics went down the drain. Beauty (appearances) were glorified .....and one sees so many commonalities. The Roman empire had the mentality of "Might" and military too. Braun over brains. Seems we are seeing a repetition of history........only at a higher technical level.
