May's a smart woman. She actually favoured to remain in the EU before the referendum. When she agreed to negotiate Brexit, it was out of respect for the will of the people, nothing more. She herself knows that Brexit will be harmful to both the UK and the EU and she understood from the very beginning that her job is to negotiate the least harmful Brexit possible under the circumstances.

She has lost control of the whole process. Backbenchers in open revolt. Both ways, Leave and Remain.
Betrayal of coalition partners. Collusion with the EU.
Hasn't won one negotiation.

It's going well.

My prediction: the democratic vote of the British people, will be betrayed by the government. Tory or Labour, won't matter.

To be fair, we all knew that the negotiation would be a hell of a challenge whoever took the help. Why? Because the Brexiteers wanted their cake and eat it too and are now shocked that the EU is refusing to give it to them. The Remainers knew this would happen. May herself knew this would happen. Perhaps her error was to take on the task. She perhaps should have left it to a true blue died-in-the-wool Brexiter and let him fall on the proverbial sword and then pick up the pieces from there.

That's what Boris is doing, letting May mess it up, then he will sweep in and take the "the man who tried/succeeded to save Britain".

Honestly, May not telling the DUP about the deal was just stupid.

I don't recall that. I only recall her being compared to Thatcher only after she became PM in the wake of the EU referendum.

I'm assuming Farage wanted the then-Home Secretary to lead the Leave campaign because she was regarded as a eurosceptic.
