Hey all,

I would like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all our American readers of this forum. I'm a Canadian Citizen married to an American wife and we both currently reside in Montreal.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the president for winning re-election earlier this month.

If Canadians really understood what President Bush`s election platform was based on, more of them would agree with the
president. I actually think more of us do agree with the president, but unlike the liberals, conservatives tend to not stir up a fuss and are pretty much quiet.

Anyone in his or her right mind would rather live in a low tax state
rather than a welfare state (or socialist country such as Canada).

I am glad my wife`s absetee ballot for the state of Arizona made a difference.

Here are my reasons why the president has won re-election...

- Tax cuts vs govenment spending. I`ll pick the tax cuts any day.

- Abortion issue ... In addition to being morally wrong, as a Catholic I would definately not vote for a fellow Catholic who disagrees with the beliefs of his own faith (the Catholic Church).

- Gay marriage issues ... definately not. Sets a bad example for our
kids.

- War in Iraq ... we need to keep a strong leader who doesn`t flip-flop.

- Death Penalty ... the only real deterrent to comming murder.

- Gun control ... as a former target shooter (owned a 9 mm glock 19
while residing in Phoenix), I think law abiding individuals ought to have the right to own firearms.

If Canadians understod the above issues, more of them would tend to agree with our U.S. neighbors in favor of Bush`s policies.

After all, who in his-her right mind wants to live in a socialist police state?

Hi Tony D

Here are my reasons why the president has won re-election...

- Tax cuts vs govenment spending. I`ll pick the tax cuts any day.
Well Buddy .... I don't wanna wish you any bad luck, but I sure would like to see you unemployed, ill, or bankrupt. I bet you'd change your tune then.

- Abortion issue ... In addition to being morally wrong, as a Catholic I would definately not vote for a fellow Catholic who disagrees with the beliefs of his own faith (the Catholic Church).
How many pregnant women were killed in Iraq lately? How many unborn were affected by depleted uranium? How many abortions became necessary through 10 years of sanctions?

- Gay marriage issues ... definately not. Sets a bad example for our
kids.
If you outlaw same sex unions, then outlaw divorce too! If marrige is so sacred, why are so many people breaking sacred oaths?

- War in Iraq ... we need to keep a strong leader who doesn`t flip-flop.
Americans like their presidents just like they want their underarm deodorant. "Strong" and "Under The Dome". But, they always forget that deodorant has a best before date.

- Death Penalty ... the only real deterrent to comming murder.
People who applaud the death penalty are dead inside themselves.

- Gun control ... as a former target shooter (owned a 9 mm glock 19
while residing in Phoenix), I think law abiding individuals ought to have the right to own firearms.
I think everyone should be allowed to have as many weapons as they want. (Not cannons, just small firearms or handguns.) I think this because the only reason I want a gun would be to protect myself from government or during an insurrection. I'm against having to register firearms because I don't want the government coming to my house during riots.

If Canadians understod the above issues, more of them would tend to agree with our U.S. neighbors in favor of Bush`s policies.
All that Americans have done since 9-11 is to run and hide in fear! Americans are giving away their rights to save their rights with Patriot Acts.

After all, who in his-her right mind wants to live in a socialist police state?
Like I said, I don't wanna wish you any bad luck in life .... but I hope you get 3 flat tires on the way home from work today.
Take more Prozac! Maybe your medical plan covers that?

When did American justice become American just-us?

Yeah! Especially when you can live in a conservative police state instead! With lower taxes (for the rich, anyway), and freedom for all (well, except for gays, women, minorities, the poor, and sundry other non-Republicans). An' Ethel? Git that electric chair warmed up, we have visitors... murderers (oh, and non-murderers wrongfully accused, but what the hell).

Within arms reach of the new baby..
Hey while we're at it, being free and all, we can just head down to the local AK47 shop and pick us up some hunting guns. Because of course, that's what those guns are for. Just hunting. Oh, and protecting our family from those gays, and lesbians.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the president for winning re-election earlier this month.

Your president is so disliked in this country that he's afraid to give a speech to parliament. He's so afraid of well-organized protests that he changed his itinerary to go to Halifax.

If Canadians really understood what President Bush`s election platform was based on, more of them would agree with the
president.

Canadians are pretty politically savvy...we know what Bush's platform was based on. 75% of us feel that lies, greed, and murder are not what a platform should be based on.

I actually think more of us do agree with the president, but unlike the liberals, conservatives tend to not stir up a fuss and are pretty much quiet.

Or maybe you were all too busy counting your money to answer the phone when the pollsters called. Is this the same vast silent majority that Stevie Harper was yapping about before he pulled fewer votes than before?

Anyone in his or her right mind would rather live in a low tax state
rather than a welfare state (or socialist country such as Canada).

I guess that means you're crazy because you just said that you lived here.

I am glad my wife`s absetee ballot for the state of Arizona made a difference.

That's too bad.

- Tax cuts vs govenment spending. I`ll pick the tax cuts any day.

Saving that massive debt for your kids to pay off?

- Abortion issue ... In addition to being morally wrong, as a Catholic I would definately not vote for a fellow Catholic who disagrees with the beliefs of his own faith (the Catholic Church).

Who are you to make moral decisions for others, especially when those decisions are based on a religious belief that others do not share?

- Gay marriage issues ... definately not. Sets a bad example for our
kids.

Why would your kids care? For that matter, why would you care? I set a terrible example for kids all the time, and Mrs. Rev happens to be a woman. Are you saying we shouldn't be married?

- War in Iraq ... we need to keep a strong leader who doesn`t flip-flop.

You need a leader that doesn't lie to the world in order to start illegal wars for oil.

- Death Penalty ... the only real deterrent to comming murder.

Study after study after study has shown that the death penalty does not act as a deterent, so your premise is factually wrong. Also...since you claim to be religious man...the Bible says "Thou Shalt Not Kill." How is ending an unarmed person's life not killing?

- Gun control ... as a former target shooter (owned a 9 mm glock 19
while residing in Phoenix), I think law abiding individuals ought to have the right to own firearms.

Ah, yes...handguns. Nevermind the rampant gun crime in the US folks. It doesn't matter because Tony here wants to go target shooting.

If Canadians understod the above issues, more of them would tend to agree with our U.S. neighbors in favor of Bush`s policies.

We understand them just fine. We just stand here shaking our heads.

After all, who in his-her right mind wants to live in a socialist police state?

Not me, that's why I'm staying in Canada.

Well, TonyD, I don't really agree with you on much of anything.
Tax Cuts. Sure. While you're at it, do away with EI, Medicare, and Welfare. If you're down and out, F you! I don't want to help out ANYBODY.

Abortion - sorry, I don't care what your religion believes; I shouldn't have to follow rules set down by a Church that I don't attend.

Gay Marriage - sets a bad example for your kids? What the f? Keep it in the closet, man. That's much better.

Death Penalty. Yes, bring it back. Like in Texas. There are fewer appeals and wrongful conditions when the innocent parties are dead.

War in Iraq. Can you, for our enlightenment, explain what the war in Iraq is about? Is it about, say WMD? You mean the ones the US sold to Iraq? Oh, not about that, it's about...freedom for the Iraqi people? I remember how that was the justification. That's right. In that case, what country is next? China? Or Canada? Good. Keep us in the loop, will you.

Gun Control - you're a target shooter? Can you explain how you are not allowed to own a target shooting gun? No, I didn't think so. What if I want to own nuclear tipped missles for target shooting. That's okay, is it?

You picked the wrong board for this kind of bullshit. This really pisses me off "Death Penalty ... the only real deterrent to comming murder." Ya well you got the right person for the job than considering george bush has murdered 155 people by execution. He is fondly remembered as the Texecutioner. It did not even matter to the "christian" bush even with evidence that some of these people were innocent. These are your leaders own words Texas did not sign the Vienna Convention,
so why should we be subject to it ? "
Statement from the office of Texecutioner George W.
bush.

I am very fond of poetry, here is a nice little poem, he is dead now he was executed by the texecutioner.

DEATH BY LAW IS NOT THE SOLUTION
FOR WITHIN THE HEART BREEDS CONTEMPT AND REVOLUTION
ONE MAN KILLS, ANOTHER DIES,
WHILE THE STATE CREATES A NEST OF LIES:
"KILL HIM, KILL HER, SLAUGHTER ALL,
AND SOCIETY WILL BENEFIT OVERALL!"

THE MAN ON THE STREET LIVES HAND TO MOUTH,
IN THESE CONFEDERACY STATES OF THE SOUTH;
THE MAN IN HIS CASTLE WITH HIS BELLY FULL,
TAKES ALL HIS SUBJECTS FOR A FOOL:
"JOIN ME IN THE TRIUMPH TO SLAUGHTER THE BEAST,
AND I'LL SURELY SHOW YOU HOW TO ENJOY A FEAST!"

WITHOUT ANY POWER OR KNOWLEDGE OF WORDS,
THE PRISONER POET IS SURROUNDED BY SWORDS.
HIS CONQUERED BODY, BURIED AND SLAIN,
BUT HIS SPIRIT HE KNOWS, NO DESPOT WILL GAIN;
THO' A THOUSAND LASHES WILL BRING FORTH SORROW,
THE RESILIENT SPIRIT, ONLY THINKS ON THE MORROW.

FROM THE JAWS OF THE LION, HE'S NO STRENGTH TO RUN FREE,
AND WITH GRIP OF ITS CLAWS, ONE CAN SURELY AGREE;
WITH NO RELIEF IN THE HALLS, NO RECOURSE IN THE LAW,
BUT THE DESPOT KNOWS ONE THING, A KING'S ANCIENT FLAW:
WHEN THE PEASANTS ARE RALLIED,
WITH PITCHFORKS HELD HIGH,
TO MOUNTAINS HE'LL HARRY, WITH A FAINT AND A SIGH.

(Hal Turner Says: Saddam Hussein could walk the streets of Iraq with a
couple bodyguards and be safe in throngs of cheering crowds. George
Bush needs 4,000 combat troops and 6,000 cops around him to walk the
street in Washington, DC. Which man, Hussein or Bush, is really the
despised dictator? The answer is clear. )

Neh Communism just doesn't work, it's nice on paper but in reality ... Anyway, I don't see any things to agree with Tony D, I'm sorry. One thing about gay marriage: as Paranoid Dot Calm said, what about divorce? A common misconception is the thought all children need a male (father) and a female (mother) rolemodel to develop. That's not totally true. Why can't an aunt, an uncle, the neighbors be rolemodels for (fe)males?

Ooops I accidently deleted my message (just before sj007's one).
I wanted to edit and to add:
is Soykan Tony D? (refering to ip)
Because it apparently look like a troll, but there ain't many ways to prove it...
If so, we lapsed into the toll :p
