There is a story circulating around the lower mainland that the girl in question was a willing participant in the video until here parents found out and then she cried rape. This according to some of her friends.
The story is true but I can't verify that it is indeed the truth.

If true (and I do emphasize 'if'), then at 16 she is old enough to know better and ought to be persecuted to the full extent of the law.

That said, even the most vile of criminals is still deserving of respect, even to the last shot of the firing squad, by virtue of being a human. Seeing that her actions are far from being the most vile possible, she is still entitled to not have her embarrassing photos spread to the public, and ought to be entitled to protection from this to the full extent of the law, regardless of whatever criminal charges may be laid against her for false witness.

As for her parents, if this is indeed true, I certainly hope that if it should be found that she was responsible at least in part for this, that her parents and friends will continue to love her and will forgive her. Sure she should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law (government is there to mete out justice, not compassion), but how much more will she need the moral support of her family and friends then.

For the sake of the men involved, I hope she was a willing participant. For her own sake, I hope she wasn't.

I wouldn't be surprised if she'd had to give a urine or blood sample for the investigation too. I'm sure too that the others involved will be investigated for the possible possession of mind-altering substances.

yeah, it is very disturbing indeed to see what many of the young people are doing to themselves and
others. what is wrong with the thought process of the young, when they have to shove pills into
themselves and turn themselves into something very far from what they naturally are. I don't understand
it, it is so unnatural, and at a time of their lives where they are at the threshold of adulthood, and
some are young adults, they choose to turn themselves into mentally handicapped humans, who can't make
a sensible decision, but would rather be high on almost anything.

Yeah, the younger people will jump
all over this, but I can remember young people without any drugs, then later, young people full
of drugs, and just feel sad to see them ruining what should be the best time of their lives.
I see a society now, that accepts drugs as a normal part of life, and one must just accept it,
and also make excuses for it. There is a huge criminal element out there, who is making billions
from them, and for some reason they can't be stopped, and I really don't believe that, because there
is so much money for so many, why should they stop, there must be so many kick back
to those who should be trying to stop it, that they also become part of it.

And, it's not anyone elses fault, the fault is in the user and families, the they need to take responsibility
for themselves, and also be dealt with more severly, (but I don't know what that would be either),
many punishments just cause more problems.

It is astonishing and horrifying to me that people would purposely give a young woman date rape drugs so
they can repeatedly rape her, while others stand by and watch, or participate, take pictures, post those
pictures.

That is the bottom of the barrel in the human race, it is disgusting.

Let's not glorify history. I was not very aware of the details of drug use at my high school later, though was still aware of it existence. And if you read history, opium was a major problem even for youths in some parts of the world a long time ago. This is not a new phenomenon, though we should still try to eradicate it none the less.

The last report I read, a couple of days ago, said that the victim was given a date rape drug. A couple of girls (under 18) insisted nothing happened. It seems like this generation is inclined to say what they think will keep them popular, not what is morally correct.

That's the scary part for young men at parties.... someone slips the girl the date rape drug, and you'll never know. The only thing it obviously does is make the person agreeable and maleable, so, the chick who says 'sure!' may actually want what you're doing, or, someone may have drugged her. It's a scary drug.

Machjo: Since it was a rave drug tests would be irrelevant since all of them would probably have some drugs in their system. Nature of the beast. Not to say that it isn't sick but some of these boys may be in for a rough ride that they do not really deserve. Only difference between now and when I was a kid is computers and cell phones. We were lucky to have Polaroid. Well not quite true. There are some drugs out now that are way worse than any I ever used. Also wonder about parents that allow their 16 yr. olds to go to a rave. OTH when I was 16 I would have gone without permission too.
Perhaps we are too old to judge?

none of us really know the truth, it could be anything, hopefully whatever the truth is, it eventually
comes to the surface.
parts of the story might be true, all of it, or whatever.
if she was a willing participant in group sex, that is one thing, if she was so drunk she didn't
resist, but didn't have a clue what was going on, that is a crime, as no one should be taking advantage
of her, as drunkeness actually puts her in a state of helplessness, and those around her should not
be touching her, except to help her.
if she was involuntarily drugged, it is a crime.
if she was having group sex, and it became violent, that is a crime.
drunkeness by the males does not give them an excuse to rape her, and probably makes them less
able to have sex at all, rape isn't sex it is violence, even attempted rape.

if she was part of the prank, (such a mild word for such a horrid situation), then she should have
the book thrown at her along with the others.

Unless you know first hand that the story is not true, you should not say anything. There are enough rumors going on here, but this is serious.
