The comments came from parts of a videotaped RCMP interview with Sayfildin Tahir Sharif, 40.

A judge is tasked with deciding if the man will be extradited to the United States to face charges of murdering five soldiers in Iraq.

Sharif, a Canadian citizen, faces charges of aiding in the murder of the soldiers who were killed on April 10, 2009, when a truck filled with explosives blew up near the gate of Forward Operating Base Marez in Mosul, Iraq.

During the lengthy recorded interview, he admits sending money to fund "his brothers...the Mujahideen."

On the tape, Cpl. Ian Ross accuses Sharif of trying to recruit suicide bombers over the Internet.
