I like Cruz because he was born in Canada
That's fine. And it is my interpretation of the Constitution that he's eligible to be President because he was automatically a citizen at the moment of his birth. That's the consensus opinion of legal scholars, and the only one that makes sense.

Didn't stop Walter and his fellow birthers from claiming that Obama couldn't be President because he wasn't born in the U.S. (he was).

Wonder what changed?

Cruz never claimed he wasn't born in Canada as BHO claimed, in his Harvard days, he was born in Kenya.

Nice dodge. Mighta worked on some of our stupider members. But the fact is you and fellow birfers said Obama couldn't be President because he wasn't born in America. But along comes Cruz, who actually wasn't, and you're strangely silent.

I don't really think it's hypocrisy, mind. I think it's just that you mindlessly hop onto whatever hate-Obama meme happens to be going around at the time without bothering to do any thinking.

Still haven't found proof, have you?

The following case reveals something interesting about Cruz’s character. Ted Cruz is now running strongly among evangelical voters, especially in Iowa. But in his career and public presentation Cruz is a stranger to most of what would generally be considered the Christian virtues: humility, mercy, compassion and grace. Cruz’s behavior in the Haley case is almost the dictionary definition of pharisaism: an overzealous application of the letter of the law in a way that violates the spirit of the law, as well as fairness and mercy.

In 1997, Michael Wayne Haley was arrested after stealing a calculator from Walmart. This was a crime that merited a maximum two-year prison term. But prosecutors incorrectly applied a habitual offender law. Neither the judge nor the defense lawyer caught the error and Haley was sentenced to 16 years.

Eventually, the mistake came to light and Haley tried to fix it. Ted Cruz was solicitor general of Texas at the time. Instead of just letting Haley go for time served, Cruz took the case to the Supreme Court to keep Haley in prison for the full 16 years.

During the Supreme Court hearing, Justice Anthony Kennedy—left incredulous by Cruz’s position—asked him: “Is there some rule that you can't confess error in your state?”

Would hearing this story undercut Cruz’s support among Republican primary voters? I really don’t know. I do know that a person who would fight such a case all the way to the Supreme Court is lacking something very basic—something important not only for Christians, but for any of us, and certainly for anyone seeking to become the most powerful individual in the world. That thing is judgment.

wherever i sit down my ars
Doesn't make a damn bit of difference what the circumstance and situation may be , positive, negative. Good Bad. Doesn't matter. People like Cruz will not change their "Script". They have programmed themselves to fit a role, and to perceive others in the role they have put them in. It's pure shyt pile politics. Meaningless performances to try and get elected, truth be damned. :)

Talk about the shallow end of the gene pool ... the low fraction in the cracking tower ... the "Group W Bench"
And how many millions have you made with your inventions? In what subject do you have your master's degree?

...hundreds of thousands but not millions...

Anyway, a good portion of the rich people on the continent did something criminal but weren't caught at it. The system is fairly stacked against one becoming "honestly wealthy", although it likely happens now and again.
