Tales from Parliament Hill

Is there a time portal in the basement of one of the Parliament buildings in Ottawa? Do the politicians of old travel back and forth between the world of the living and the dead? Or is it just the Senate Chamber? Do dairy cattle graze after hours in the Library of Parliament, cared for by retired military members working for the Corps of Commissionaires?

Is there a secret bathroom, its whereabouts lost to time, somewhere close to the Senate Chamber? Built only for Queen Vistoria's use, should she ever visit Canada, the room was not included in the original design plans. What happened to it?

Good evening. I'm Talbot Tallman for CNN, the Canadian News Network. This new information series will detail the strange and bizarre stories of Ottawa's Parliament Buildings.

Our first story. Did aliens actually build Parliament as an intergalactic arrival point for extraterrestrial visitors?

Dr. Wayne Pullman of CERI, the Canadian Extraterrestrial Research Institute claims that if you measure the outside of Parliament and divide that number (in inches) by 802, 409.431, you get another number that resembles pi.

Further, with the single exception of the Peace Tower, no one has ever canoed inside Parliament. While that might not sound unusual, the reason is because you cannot find water within its walls! It has to be brought in from elsewhere.

Next up, can Kathleen Wynne actually sell the Parliament buildings? Several constitutional and real estate lawyers say yes! Hear the strange tale of the Ontario Liberals plan to take the province out of debt! It might shock you!
