The United States Supreme Court has ruled that spending limits placed on campaign contributions by large corporations are unconstitutional. This allows corporate donors to finance political candidates to any extent they wish.

Given the fact that US elections are already massively influenced by heavy spending, it will be interesting to see if this decision further erodes US democracy.
